Welcome to Chor Leoni’s 2014-15 seasonFor our 22nd season we have created a series of not-to-be-missed choral events – a collaborationwith our old friend Christopher Gaze at Remembrance Day, a fully-staged a cappella musical marking the 100th anniversary of the1914 Christmas Truce, a concert of exciting world premieres and a Summer show celebrating the music of Canada. Add in our newly founded VanMan Choral Summit which will bring over 300 singing men to the stage of the Chan and our fabulous Chor Leoni Idol Fundraiser, and thisis truly going to be one eventful season.

Chor Leoni loves nothing more than to share its music with you, our loyal audience. We hope you won’t miss a single note of this season’s choral happenings!

Robert Service witnessed theseunsung acts of compassion as a WWI volunteer ambulancedriver. A Great Service places his harrowing stories alongsidemusical selections by Gustav Holst, Vaughan Williams, PaulMealor, and Rupert Lang in this beloved Chor LeoniRemembrance Day tradition.

The Western Front, 1914. Out of the violence comes a silence,then a song. A German soldier steps into No Man’s Land whilesinging Stille Nacht, and begins an extraordinary night ofcamaraderie, music, and peace. In a fully staged theatricalproduction marking the 100th anniversary of this miraculousevent, Chor Leoni and professional actors tell the true story ofthe Christmas Truce in the words and songs of the men wholived it.

Karaoke supremacy is on the line as eight of Chor Leoni’s mostentertaining singers vie for the titleof Chor Leoni Idol in the return ofthis popular fundraiser event. Our FREE MYVoice choral program for guys aged 12-20 drawsmembers from across Metro Vancouver to rehearsals held inBurnaby, Vancouver, and on the North Shore. MYVoice provides a place where young men can find their voice, sing, developconfidence, and have fun. Rehearsals start in January, with no previous choral experience required.

The MYVoice finale concert is part of the new VanMan ChoralSummit in the glorious acoustics of the Chan. MYVoice will presenttheir own free afternoon concert, then join in the massed numbers inthe evening’s Summit Concert, singing with over 300 men!
