Choose your sleeping temperature!A comfortably warm duvet helps you sleep well and wake up feeling rested. The temperature that is just right for you depends on how warm you are, the temperature of your bedroom and if you share a duvet with someone else. That’s why you can choose from MYSA du-vets with warmth ratings of 1-6. The duvets come in several different and new materials, so that you can find one that gives you optimal sleeping comfort. What’s more, if, depending on the season, you sometimes feel too hot and sometimes too cold, choose warmth rating 1+3, which gives you three duvets in one!

How about a duvet that you can make warmer when you’re cold and cooler when you’re hot? And that suits all seasons? Warmth rating 1+3 consists of a cool thin summer duvet and a slightly thicker one. They are easy to attach to each other, giving you an extra warm and thick duvet for winter nights.

1. Cool or warmEach of our MYSA duvets has a warmth rating – from 1, the coolest, to 6, the warmest. You can also choose an All Seasons 1+3 duvet; two duvets in two different warmth rates that can be used separately or together to suit the temperature outside.

2. Filling materials Within each warmth rate you have different filling materials to choose from according to preferences and needs: synthetics, cellulose fibres and down/feather.

3. Choose sizeFinally, choose the size of the duvet that matches your bed size. Or for better comfort, select a twin duvet for each partner to meet your personal warmth preference.

Synthetic fibresOur synthetic duvets are very easy to care for since they can be washed often. They also last a long time. The fibres allow air to

circulate and retain heat in the duvet. Synthetic duvets can be washed often, which makes them a good choice for people with allergies. During the wash, the fibres are spread evenly throughout the duvet and regain their fluffiness – without the duvet losing its shape or its ability to retain heat. Another ad-vantage of synthetic duvets is that they dry more quickly after being washed.

Cellulose fibresSome of our synthetic duvets contain modal, a cellulose fibre derived from wood pulp. In addition to sharing the same positive

properties in the wash as synthetic duvets, modal breathes well and absorbs and wicks away perspiration. As a result, this combination of cellulose and synthetic fibres produces a ‘fluffy’, easy-to-care-for duvet, which keeps you dry and warm all night long.

down/feathersDown and feather fillings are good at absorbing and wicking away perspiration. At the same time they retain the heat so

that you stay dry and warm. Down contributes fluffiness and warmth to a duvet, while feathers give the filling its resilience. This means that the more down a duvet contains, the softer and warmer it is.

OuteR FABRICWe cover our duvets that are filled with synthetic and cel-lulose (modal) fibres with outer fabric made from 100 percent lyocell, or a blend of lyocell and cotton. Lyocell has the same properties as trilobal modal. It ‘breathes’ extremely efficiently and is effective in absorbing and wicking away perspiration. The fabric stays wrinkle-free, but nevertheless feels soft and silky smooth against the skin.

The covers on our down/feather duvets are made of 100 % cotton. Just like other natural materials, cotton breathes very well. This means that the air circulation through the duvet is good, allowing it to dry quickly after becoming damp. Together with down and feathers, which also dry quickly, a cotton cover gives you a dry environment in which to sleep with an even temperature closest to your body.

NeItHeR tOO WARM NOR tOO COLd!

HOW tO CARe

Mites love warm, dark, humid environments like beds. That’s why you should wash your duvet, as well as your sheets, duvet cover and pillowcases fairly often. All IKEA duvets can be washed at 60°C (the temperature at which mites die) and tumble-dried on normal heat.

Air your duvet frequently so that it dries out properly. That will keep it fresher for longer. It is a good idea, as well, to wait an hour or two each morning before covering your duvet with a bedspread.

Synthetic duvets are very easy to look after and can be washed time and time again. They also dry quickly.

Our duvets that are filled with a blend of synthetic fibres and cellulose fibres can be washed in the same way as the synthetic duvets. These duvets also dry quickly and can be washed often.

When washing duvets with down/feather fillings you should use only one third of the normal amount of washing detergent. Place a couple of tennis balls together with the duvet in the tumble-dryer. This will help the filling to regain its fluffiness and dry more quickly after the wash. Do check, however, that none of the colour is transferred from the tennis balls to the duvet. Make sure that the duvet is completely dry before you use it. Do not vacuum or beat a duvet to clean it, as this can destroy the natural properties of down and feathers.
