RCC COLLEGE CLASSWe will be offering the RCC LIB127 course this winter. Introduction to Library Research Methods (LIB127) - This is an online class that you will purchase directly from RCC. We will offer a support class on Brighton’s campus Tuesday & Friday times TBA (1 credits) approx. cost: $105.We recommend parents interested see Laura in the Brighton front office ASAP for enrollment instruction. We need a minimum of 5 students to sign-up for us to run our support class, if interested sign-up ASAP.

RCC PLACEMENT TESTOn Tuesday, December 9th we will be proctoring an RCC Placement Test on our campus at 10:35 am in Brighton’s computer room. We will be offering 3 placement test prep classes to get our students ready. Join us Friday November 14 & 21 and December 5th from 12noon to 2pm in the computer lab.

HAUNTED HOUSE SUCCESSOur Haunted House was a smashing success this year! Special thanks to Chanel Brown, Brenda & Erick Harju, Lilly Hassett and Dan, Pam & Kole Nelson; their dedication made this event possible. Our student helpers did a fantastic job! Thank

you to Marsha Harms, the Rondeau family and everyone who donated. We appreciate all the students and families that supported or attended.

Sensei Dan says... “I have been teaching at Brighton Academy for 9 years now, and have loved every moment of being with all the wonderful kids. I teach grades 3 thru 8 in a variety of classes, from reading to PE. I love helping students achieve both their personal and academic goals.”

GROWERS MARKETSaturday 12/6 & 12/20 (10am to 2pm)This year our students have a special invitation to participate

in The Winter Growers Market. It is being held at the JOCO fairgrounds. There is space designated for Brighton students. Brighton students will have opportunities to make money and keep their own profits!

Sellers must sign up well in advance and submit their selling plans for approval. In order for students to sell a parent/adult must be present to supervise. Last year was fantastic, students sold homemade jewelry, scarves, pottery, soap, pillows, stuffed animals and more! If you grow it or make it, Bring It!!!

EDUCATION & HEALTH SUPPORTTuesday Nov 18th (3:15pm to 4:45pm)

Eric Epstein, Director of the of The e Agency, will be conducting a Brighton parent meeting

on Education and Health Supports for Families. It is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18th from 3:15 to 4:45 in Brighton’s Activity room. This meeting is free of charge. There will be child care available in the Kindergarten room for $3.75 per hour per child.Parents with children/young adults who have health or educational needs will learn about resources, active learning groups, tutoring, and social skill development activities that are available locally. Eric Epstein will also discuss ways that The e Agency creates custom supports and fun ways for young people to overcome life obstacles.

CHRISTMAS PAGEANTThursday, December 18th our youngsters will participate in a Brighton Christmas Pageant. This holiday celebration will include pre-K thru 4th grade families. The pageant will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. The Senior class will have a special Holiday bake sale at the pageant. This will be an adorable event you won’t want to miss!

ABC MUSIC & ME with Mrs. Martin. Tuesdays 12:30 - 1:00 in the Pre-K room. Cost of $45 dollars a month, offered in a two month session. Price includes weekly classes along with a monthly CD, monthly at home “magazine”, and a bi-monthly instrument. Contact Mrs. Martin to sign-up!

BRIGHTON’S INTERACT CLUB

Our Interact club has been meeting every Thursday from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Here is a brief sampling of their upcoming events:

• The Brighton Interact Club did an awesome job participating in the Duck Derby!

• Interacters will join the “The Messiah Sing-along”, at River Valley Church again this year.

• The Brighton Interact club will be selling mistletoe at the Grower’s Market on December 6th, 2014.

• Working with the Rotary club, dictionaries were delivered to all the Brighton 3rd grade students. Each Interacter presented a child with a dictionary and taught them how to use them.

Our Interact Club welcomes any students interested in joining! Contact Sami C. for information!

TOYS FOR TOTS CAMPAIGNThe Rogue Valley Marine Corps League is collecting toys to be given to needy families from Wolf Creek, Grants Pass, Rogue River, Murphy, and south to the Illinois Valley. We have a drop box located in our front office lobby, so if you are interested in participating please bring in new and unwrapped toys. Help us support a great cause!
