Food Energy Pyramid

*A food energy pyramid is comprised for four level that categorize the food chain, and energy flow, in the ecosystem.

*It consist PRODUCERS and CONSUMERS.

*It begins with producers.*And it ends with tertiary

consumers

The food energy pyramid starts with a producers. One of the producers are the plants. They can create ignorganic raw materials. Plants through a process of photosynthesis,

take energy from the sun and use it to not only sustain it’s own life, but also to supports other life forms. They are the most plentiful in this food energy pyramid.

Example of PRODUCERS

The second level on the energy pyramid is comprised by primary consumers of the plants, known as herbivore. Herbivore live by eating

plant life, thus converrting from the sun, through plants. Herbivores are relatively plentiful, and exist on the next level of the energy pyramid.

herbivore

The third level on the energy pyramid is comprised by secondary consumers or primary carnivores. These secondary consumers survive on the herbivore, turning those herbivore into energy. They sre less numerous than herbivore, but exist in greater numbers then those at the top of the energy pyramid.

Carnivore

The fourth level on the energy pyramid is it’s apex , comprised by tertiary consumers, or secondary carnivore. These arethe top of the food chain, and thrive by consuming primary carnivores. Tertiary consumers are the least

plentiful in the energy pyramid, and exist in fewer numbers as apex predators.

What is Food Energy Pyramid?

A graphical model that is shaped like a pyramid to show how the energy flows through a food chain , how the amount of energy is decreasing and becoming less available for organisms as it enters each trophic level, and how much of the energy in the ecosystem is lost to the atmosphere as heat.
