Learn to use only Word des ign features.
i first selected and scanned my image. Once I had my hierarchy
established, I tried to illustrate that hierarchy through the
size of the text. I also tried to create a clear focal point
by using white lettering to contrast with the dark, brown
background. Finally, I aligned all of the elements within the
piece with another element and printed.

Create an original, new logo and use it in a brochure.
Set up and align a two-sided, folded document.
Incorporate quality images.
Write at least 250 words of original copy.
I began this project by sketching. From there, I created a
paper mock-up. I created my logo and the city skyline from
the front cover using Illustrator. I selected the images that
I wanted to use. I adjusted the height of one of the buildings
using Photoshop. I then inserted my text and used a paragraph
style to make sure that all of the elements were cohesive.
finally, I cut out the city skyline using an Exacto knife and
then I used some black thread and a needle to bind my white
cardstock and recycled paper together.

 Create a project folder.
Process: i began by sketching. i then created the keyboard in mouse in
indesign using the pen tool and shape tools. i also selected
appropriate typography. Along the way, I made lots of little
changes (primarily to improve my alignment within the piece).
For example, I moved the mouse so that it’s bottom and top
edges were in line with the keyboard. i finished by adjusting my
text so that it was easy to read.

I used a combination of Illustrator and Indesign. I began by sketchi ng
and decided which logo I wanted to use. Using illustrators tools,
I added depth to the envelope by making certain lines thicker
than others. I created coordinating letterhead and business
cards. I inserted my Illustrator elements into Indesign, adjusted
the alignment of the elements, and applied my color scheme.

Photodesign  enhance photography skills and ability to use Photoshop by
taking a photo and adding coordinating text and design elements.

Choose a color scheme.
Use layers to design text and repeating graphic elements.
After choosing an image, I felt that I could achieve a higher
contrast by turning the image into black and white. After
turning the image black and white, I edited a bubble image. I
changed the colors of the bubbles to fit my color scheme. I
then inserted the text and tried to align the shapes in a way
that they would naturally occur. Getting the gold color was
especially tricky and I ended up having to use a mask. Finally, I
added color swatches and included my color scheme.

Process To complete this logo, I used the ellipse tool to draw a circle. I
then used the subtract and add anchor point tools along with
the direct selection tool to manipulate the shape so that one
half of the circle looked like an hour glass. Then I deleted half
of the circle and used the reflection tool to copy my hour glass

Use a mask to apply a filter to one part of the image.
Apply typography principles.
Select good quality images
I selected the two images that i wanted to blend together. From
there, i created a mask on the sparkler picture and i used the brush
tool (at varying opacities) to blend it into the image of the girl behind
it. i also researched fonts that i felt would convey the message i
wanted to portray. i arranged my words and selected the purple.
finally, i used the color picker tool to select the yellow for the
remaining words.

Acquire a working knowledge of CSS.
Identify hex colors to match logo using Photoshop color picker.
This was my first time working with HTML and CSS files. We
learned the basics of both through activities that we
participated in class. To create this website, I used an applic ation
called Text Wrangler. I found it particularly interesting that
simply switching a few words could create such major changes
in my preview screen. Through changing both the html and css
files, i was able to create this website.
