Since 2007 to-date my activities for the global programs outreach have been focused on cultivating deeper sense of service amongst graduate and medical students and enabling their summer placements or elective semester in different locations in Africa, India and in needy areas of USA.

Invited speaker and panelist at different universities, national meetings, Society of Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (SELAM), world culture club, UN assembly, diversity symposia, private businesses and corporations on global health, ethics, race, gender issues.

Consultant and advisor on strategic planning for creating a welcoming climate for various university campuses.

Invited panelist and active participant in the annual round-table on interconnectedness / interdependence of this globalized world and help set strategies for Internationalization of our University.

Co-initiated of the global healthcare and partnership programs between universities from US and Eastern African for advancing science and healthcare education as well as services and a lead member of the PSU academic / healthcare partnership program with Tanzania and India.

Facilitated inter-university studies on sexual harassment in medical schools.

Co-chaired Council on Diversity (2004-2006); provided strategic direction and goals for embracing diversity 2004-2009 to advocate and create a welcoming climate, deeper understanding and respectful environment for all. Established PSCOM definition of “diversity” and devised methods to disseminate the definition to the campus stakeholders.

Collaborated on projects with US State Departments in my prior job as a consultant for the Indian Government on science and environment education.

Provided strategic direction, organized, led community activities and K-12 educational outreach programs.

Designed curricula and help set criteria for faculty and student recruitment. Inaugural faculty and member of the Governing Council of the Penn State School of International Affairs.

Provided vision and direction for career guidance and professional enhancement of minority faculty and postdoctoral fellows (2002-2003), which led to the establishment of the Junior Faculty Development Program at PSCOM. .

Member of the steering committee and co-organizer of the World Community Culture Club of Hershey- 2000 – 2008. Monthly seminars are organized by involving members of the national and international community.

Organized Surgical Research Conferences since 1997- 2007 (a total of 84 internal and external speakers). These were weekly research seminars organized and conducted to enhance “bench to bedside” knowledge and relate basic science research to the clinical, human health issues.
