introduction

Chinese writing is very different from our writing. We think Chinese writing is strange and

Chinese people think our writing is strange. We use letters that have one sound and Chinese

people use symbols that have more than one sound. You will learn about Chinese writing.

Cantonese and Mandarin are similar because they have similar characters when writing so

they can understand each other, and that both languages Cantonese and mandarin both use

characters. Mandarin and Cantonese languages are very different. They are written

differently and they are pronounced very different. You will learn about Mandarin and

Cantonese language.

In China

I

n China, kids from grades 2-4 must practice writing

Chinese characters for 2 hours every day to help

them remember the many characters. It must be

hard to remember all that and start a new language

that’s very different if they must learn a second

language.

Concluding paragraph

I

t may be hard and different, but it also can be fun to learn and useful if you’re

moving to China. But there’s over 50,000 characters, that’s a lot of characters,

I do say so myself. So, if want to learn Chinese writing, start learning! Chinese

writing can be so amazing if you give it a chance. Kids learn Chinese language

at grades two to twelve, because there are five billion characters and sounds to
