History • 1st immigrants arrived in 1870s after railroad construction
• Chinese population grew steadily, but boomed in the 1950-1960’s
• There were multiple relocations due to racial discrimination and over crowding
• There are mulitple mini-Chinatowns, but the most known is at Wentworth and Cermak
