COMPANIES WE WILL VISIT

Inner Mongolia Rising New Energy

Location: Xinghe county, Inner Mongolia Capacity: 60,000 tpa Graphite type: Flake

Inner Mongolia Rising New Energy was chosen by the Chinese government to consolidate all flake graphite mining operations in Inner Mongolia. The company has developed industrial parks to create value-added carbon products from the province’s rich graphite resources.

The company consolidated nine graphite miners in Xinghe county and invested RMB 2.4 bn ($389m) to establish an industrial park in the Xingwnagjiao Angle Industrial Zone near Wulanchabu City.

Rising’s graphite industrial complex covers 1.2km2 and is one of the most important industrial parks in Inner Mongolia.

The company is one of the most advanced in China for value-added graphite products including: high purity graphite, expandable graphite, flexible graphite, spherical graphite, high thermal conductivity graphite foil, and lithium-ion battery cathode materials.

In 2013, the company was granted all the natural graphite mining rights in the province.

Hengda Graphite

Location: Hubei, China Capacity: 40,000 tpa Graphite type: Flake

China Science Hengda Graphite Company was established in 2009 and mines flake graphite from three different locations in Hubei, a central province in China, and from a combined resource of 20m tonnes.

The company mines flake graphite from one open pit operation and two underground mines.

Hengda Graphite creates sealing products, gaskets and mechanical sealing materials and is the only company in China to own this mine to market value chain for sealants. The company is also building two industrial parks for basic flake graphite material and the development of hi-tech products such as high purity graphite and spherical graphite grades.
