    Kitsilano Neighbourhood House is a friendly neighbourhood place. People of all ages and cultures come

    together to enjoy programs and services that make the Westside a healthy, safe and vibrant community in

    which to live and do business. Kits House is a non-profit registered charitable organization providing

    services on the Westside of Vancouver from Granville Street to UBC, from Musqueam to Cornwall Street.

    Kitsilano Neighbourhood House Occasional Care Program, Bumbletree Childcare is looking forenthusiastic, mature, dedicated, effective team members for the position of School Age Child CareAssistant to work in our child care centre. The successful candidates will have excellent guiding andcaring skills and the ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural, and energetic environment.

    Job Overview:Bumbletree Childcare is a licensed occasional care childcare program. Each child enrolled attendsbetween 1-3 days a week for 3 hours a day. The Child care assistant will provide quality child care, tochildren between the ages of 18 months to 48 months, in an inclusive, multicultural and co-operative teamenvironment. As a part of this diverse childcare team you will be responsible for assisting with programplanning and delivery, assisting with toileting and diapering, general supervision and ensuring the safetyand well-being of the children in the program.

    Qualifications Required: Must have a minimum of 20 hrs of childcare training, in child development, guidance, health and

    safety and/ or nutrition.

    Early Childhood Education Certificate an asset.

    Related experience working in a childcare setting, working with toddlers in an asset.

    Must have valid Child Safe First Aid Certificate. Class 4 driver license an asset.

    Strong planning, organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability/experience working with families of program participants.

    Ability to work in a multicultural, multi-programmed environment. Ability to work cooperatively in a non-profit and volunteer-based organization.

    Able to participate in activities with the children and work flexible hours. Creativity, initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility and a good sense of humour.

    Second language is an asset.

    Job Details:Salary: $14.42 an hour

    Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays from 9am- 1pm (Occasional Thursdays

    and Occasional evenings and weekends for all staff meetings and special events)

    Expected Start Date: In February
