Child hospitalized after being pulled from Cowabunga Baypool

HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

The Henderson Police Department confirmed a 5-year-old was involved in a drowning incidentWednesday afternoon at Cowabunga Bay water park.

According to Cowabunga Bay general manager Shane Huish, the child was pulled from the deep endof the wave pool about 4:15 p.m.

Huish said CPR was performed on the child until paramedics arrived. He was then taken to St. RoseDominican Hospital - Siena Campus.

The child's condition wasn't immediately known.

"I am extremely proud of our staff and how quickly they responded to the situation," Huish said in astatement. "Right now our concern is with the health and well-being of those involved."

The incident is under investigation.
