Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) is on the cutting edge of best practice for children, families and teachers promoting quality care for every child. CCRC provides services in Tulsa, Creek, Osage, Rogers and Wagoner Counties. Resource and Referral is part of the state and national Child Care Resource and Referral system. R&R provides families with children free referrals to safe, affordable child care that meets their immediate child care needs, while offering a variety of tools that allow families to gain the information and knowledge necessary to evaluate the child care options available. Babyline/Planline helps women and families find affordable prenatal care and family planning services that will improve outcomes for potentially high risk pregnancies to reduce infant mortality. The Resource Library provides developmentally appropriate toys, resource books, and a work area for the public to make inexpensive materials with die cuts, laminating machine and other tools. The Child and Adult Care Food Program reimburses family child care providers that serve nutritious meals and snacks to children in their care. The Quality Enhancement Initiative assists child care centers and family child care homes to achieve and sustain Accreditation (National Association for the Education of Young Children for center-based programs & National Association for Family Child Care). Services include program assessment, technical assistance, and staff development. The LINK Project provides free developmental, hearing, vision, speech, and social-emotional screening on-site in Tulsa County child care programs. After screenings are completed, the LINK team works closely with the family and agencies in the community to provide appropriate referrals if needed. For more information please go to our website at www.ccrctulsa.org or Like us on Facebook.

Mayo Hotel Food provided by Trula’s The Penthouse cash bar Opened in 1925 as a first class hotel, it has been a stop off spot for many celebrities over the years. Bob Hope, Charles Lindbergh, Charlie Chaplin, Mae West and John Paul Getty to name only a few, have all slept here. Eighteen stories of pure luxury! Rooms were designed to provide utmost comfort and security. Guests could enjoy not only hot and cold running water, but a third tap came with every room providing ice water also. Check out the view from the penthouse!

Originally , it was used to house the Mayo’s furniture business. It grew to five stories at that time, but that wasn’t enough. The Oil Boom had begun, so it was expanded to ten stories and repurposed as offices for Oil tycoons. At ten stories tall, it was one of the “skyscrapers” gracing Tulsa’s early skyline. Today, it has been repurposed yet again offering luxury living in the heart of downtown Tulsa. Hosted by Wiggin Properties 918-582-8100.

This building stands 40 stories high and was originally named the First National BanCorporation Tower. More modern than its peers, it was completed in 1970 and has 41 stories though the “13th” floor has been omitted. The only other buildings in Tulsa taller than First Place Tower are the BOK Tower and CityPlex Towers. The building is primarily constructed of steel and concrete and sports a marble and granite lobby. Hosted by KPM LLC 918.581.3100

Purchased in 1917 by Dr. Samuel Kennedy, it remained with the Kennedy family until 1967 when it was purchased by Williams Realty. It was renovated in 1980 and the open space that was created in the center was made into an atrium which allows natural light in all areas and contributes to an open, airy feeling. Italian and Vermont marble, brass and terra cotta are used throughout the building. Hosted by Kennedy Tower, LLC. 918-584-1414

The Tulsa Tunnels We are only able to explore the tun-nel from the Hyatt parking garage to the 320 Building, Kennedy Building and Mid Continent Building at this time, but the tunnels connect, in total, six buildings, three parking garages, a world-class hotel and numerous cafés and small businesses. It is possible to travel from First and Main all the way to Fifth and Boston while remaining indoors at all times.

The first is the Mid-Continent Building, a 16-story structure on the west side of the complex. It was completed in 1918. The second is the Mid-Continent Tower, a 37-story structure which is built alongside and cantilevered above and over the original 16-story building. The two structures do not touch. Each is freestanding, separated by six inches of space to permit each to sway, to expand or contract independently. The older building is constructed of con-crete; the newer is a steel structure. In October of 1950, 22 oilmen met to explore the possibil-ity of forming a private club as other oil centers had. The club moved to the Petroleum Club Building in 1963. During its heyday, the 14th floor contained the Oil Capital Grill, for men only. The 15th floor housed the main dining room and ballroom and the 16th floor included the Top O’Tulsa lounge. The recently renovated lobby is warm and inviting for office tenants as well as restaurant patrons. The onsite valet parking garage completes the great experience you will have when visiting the Petroleum Club Building. Hosted by KPM LLC 918.581.3100

This building was designed not only to be a bank, but also to be a mooring station for the most innovative form of travel in its day– the dirigible. Another use of the tower was as a beacon for weather alerts. During the 1960’s either red or green lights would be beamed on the tower to indicate vari-ous weather conditions. The building at 320 S. Boston was originally the home of the Exchange National Bank and was completed in 1928. It stood ten stories tall and was the largest bank in Oklahoma. It was designed by George Winkler (who also designed the Mayo Hotel) and then in 1929 was expanded even more to its current height of 22 stories. The 320 Building is designed in the Neo-Classical style and is connected to the Kennedy Building via a tunnel under Boston Avenue. Hosted by 320 Boston, LLC.918-584-1414, and Hall Estill, Attorneys at Law
