CHILD CARE CENTER JOB DESCRIPTIONS

DIRECTOR

• Help establish the program’s philosophy, goals and objectives

• Supervise staff, conduct staff meetings, and oversee curriculum

• Keep current files on staff and students, per licensing regulations

• Be responsible for purchasing and maintaining supplies and equipment

• Be responsible for ensuring the safe environment for staff and children

• Communicate with parents regarding child and parenting methods

THE TEACHER

• Demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm• Update educational training• Maintain open communication with the director,

parents, and staff• Serve as a role model to children, parents, and

other staff• Develop lesson plans and room environment to

foster learning• Ensure the health and safety of children• Use positive discipline techniques• Supervise assistant child care teachers

THE ASSISTANT CHILD CARE TEACHER

• Assist in the classroom under the supervision of the teacher• Be warm, friendly, and communicative with

students, parents, and staff• Assist in setting up and cleaning up room and

outdoor areas• Prepare learning materials for children• Arrange bulletin boards and learning centers• Serve as a role model for children
