United States

In the southern portion of the United States cooks take pride in their fried chicken dishes. The chicken is covered with a thick flour coating and deep fried.

Mexico

A Mexican recipe for chicken cooks the chicken in a chocolate chili sauce and is served over rice.

Bolivia

In Bolivia, you will find chicken finely chopped and mixed with mayonnaise and avocado served inside an avocado shell.

Denmark

In Denmark, chicken is prepared with apples and cream. It is served over rice for on special occasions.

France

A French recipe has the chicken being cooked in a sauce made of bacon, mushrooms, onions and wine.

Spain

The national dish of Spain is paella. It is a meal cooked in a single pot that includes chicken, onion, garlic, spicy sausage, shrimp, ham, peas, tomatoes and beans.

Morocco

Chicken pie is a traditional meal in Morocco. Layers of a thin crust called “phyllo dough” is filled with chicken, garlic, cinnamon, ginger, butter and eggs.

Zimbabwe

Chicken not common in Zimbabwe so it is only eaten for special occasions. One recipe calls for the chicken to be cooked in a stew of peanut butter, onions, tomatoes, cabbage, sweet potatoes, carrots and okra.

Pakistan

In Pakistan, chicken tikka is grilled after the pieces have been marinated in a sauce of yogurt, onions, tomatoes and garlic.

China

An egg roll, a thin dough holding a filling and deep fried, is a Chinese chicken dish. It is made of finely chopped chicken, shredded cabbage, onions, bean sprouts and other vegetables.

Japan

On New Year’s Eve in Japan, chicken cooked with a soy sauce and green onion broth is served with extra long buckwheat noodles to promote a long life.

Venezuela

In Venezuela chicken is cut up with garlic, pepper, cumin, tomatoes and cornmeal, then formed into patties. The patties are then steamed inside banana leaves or in aluminum foil.
