CHICAGO WHITE SOX2017 SPRING TRAINING GAME NOTES

WHITE SOX AT A GLANCE The Chicago White Sox have lost three of their last five games as they continue Cactus League play this afternoon vs. the San Francisco Giants at Camelback Ranch-Glendale … today's game will be televised in Chicago on CSN with Jason Benetti and Steve Stone on the call. The White Sox have outscored their opponents, 76-62, over the last 11 games … the Sox are hitting .295 (238-808) this spring, the fourth-best average in baseball. The White Sox have six games remaining in Glendale (five as the home team) and six on the road this spring, including two exhibition games vs. Milwaukee from 3/31-4/1 at Miller Park. Chicago went 17-13-1 last spring, its first winning record since 2004 (15-13-1) … the Sox are 114-142-21 in Glendale since 2009 and 55-77-9 all-time at CR-G (46-70-6 as the home team).

MINOR MOVE The White Sox yesterday acquired minor-league first baseman Brandon Dulin from Kansas City in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

YESTERDAY'S RECAP VS. ANGELS The White Sox scored double-digit runs for the fourth time this spring as the defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 11-2, at Tempe Diablo Stadium. Starter Carlos Rodon, who made his spring debut, earned the win after tossing 4.0 scoreless IP while striking out five batters … Matt Purke (1.1 IP) and Zack Burdi (1.2) made scoreless ap-pearances in relief. Yoan Moncada went 3-5 with two doubles, a home run and four RBI, extending his hitting streak to four games … Matt Davidson was 2-4 with a triple, homer and RBI … Adam Engel (2-5) and Melky Cabrera (2-4) recorded multi efforts.

WHITE HOT SOX Yoan Moncada is 10-22 (.455) with four doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI over his last seven games … Jacob May is 8-23 (.348) with one double and two triples in his last six games. Tyler Saladino is hitting .389 (14-36) with two doubles, one triple, three home runs and nine RBI in 13 games this spring … has hit safely in seven of his last eight games (.400, 10-25). Avisaíl García is 14-39 (.359) with two doubles, two home runs and three RBI over 14 Cactus League games. Leury García is batting .350 (14-40) with four doubles and nine RBI in 19 games this spring. Peter Bourjos is 12-33 (.364) with two doubles, two triples and two RBI over 14 CL games. Danny Hayes is hitting .379 (11-29) with three doubles in 18 spring games.

ON THE MOUND Reynaldo López owns a 2.25 ERA (3 ER/12.0 IP) over his last three starts. Matt Purke has made five scoreless appearances (6.0 IP) with seven strikeouts this spring. Cory Luebke has posted a 1.17 ERA (1 ER/7.2 IP) with six strikeouts in six spring outings. Dan Jennings owns a 1.59 ERA (1 ER/5.2 IP) and six strikeouts over four games this spring.

SOX AT THE WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC Nate Jones (USA), David Robertson (USA) and Giovanni Soto (Puerto Rico) are the remaining White Sox players participating in the World Baseball Classic. USA (Pool F runner up) has advanced to the single-elimination championship round at Dodger Stadium and will face Pool E winner Japan tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. CT … Pool F winner Puerto Rico will play Pool E runner up Netherlands in the other semifinal matchup tonight at 8:00 p.m. The championship game will take place on Wednesday (3/22) at 8:00 p.m … the semifinals and championship game will be broadcast live on MLB Network.

CACTUS LEAGUE LEADERS Jacob May leads the league in triples (3), is tied fourth in stolen bases (4), tied for seventh in hits (15) and ranks eighth in average (.357). Zack Burdi lead the league with nine appearances. Yoan Moncada is tied for the lead in RBI (13), tied for sixth in total bases (28) and ranks ninth in slugging percentage (.683). Cody Asche is tied for the lead with nine walks and tied for 11th with three home runs. Carson Fulmer is tied for 10th in strikeouts (15). Tyler Saladino is tied for 11th with three home runs.
