A SAFER INTRODUCTION TO FOOTBALL
FOR 5th & 6th GRADE BOYS
This fall CHICAGO CHRISTIAN FOOTBALL (Palos Heights) will be one of the first football organizations in the Chicagoland area to implement USA Football’s Athletic Development Model for safety in youth football, by hosting a NEW Rookie Tackle program known as TackleBar®. This fall league will be for boys who are entering 5th or 6th grade at any school and will provide a safer approach to the game for young athletes, while preserving the tradition and spirit of the sport. The league will serve as a next developmental step for boys who have played flag football, or as a great entry point for young men who have not yet played football, so that they can safely develop before beginning tackle football. Through this league, players will be introduced to traditional football equipment plus a TackleBar® harness that holds two foam bars across the lower back. A defender must track and engage a ball carrier and rip the TackleBar® from the harness to stop the play. With this approach, players stay on their feet rather than taking the ball carrier to the ground. Players will also experience a fun, character-based approach to the game that will develop their body, mind, and character. See the margin and backside of this flyer to learn more.
REGISTRATION OPENS MAY 1ST AT: www.PlayTackleBar.com/ChicagoChristian
