The Legislative Assembly of the state of is located at the state capital of Raipur. This legislative body comprises of 91 Members of Legislative Assembly.

Out of 90 members, they are directly elected from single-seat constituencies and one of the member is nominated from the Anglo-Indian community.

Unless it is dissolved, the term is 5 years. The three sections Budget, Monsoon, Winter are included in the seating held in the assembly.

Under the Madhya Pradesh Reorganization Act 2000, the state of Chhattisgarh was created.

The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly came into existence when the state was created on 1 November 2000. At Rajkumar College in Raipur, the first session of the legislative assembly was held.

In the state assembly on March 14,2015, the tax free budget was announced for the year 2015-16. Dr. Singh, who holds the Finance portfolio, presented the budget for the ninth time.

As compared to the last fiscal years expenditure, this year it is estimated to be 18 per cent higher. As a receipt from the coal block auction, the additional resources of Rs 8,200 cr on account of the 14th Finance Commission devolution will definitely increase the amount of state owned resources.

These resources will be utilised for developing infrastructure and education of the state.

In the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha, the Chief Minister announced that the government had earmarked a whopping Rs 10,676 cr for Agriculture and allied sector.

The amount of Rs 2,600 cr is being allotted to provide interest-free loan according to the farmers. The budget has been emphasised on the development of youth, infrastructure and industry.

The developments in these fields which will definitely help to realise the vision of Make-in-India.

To boost the investment in Chhattisgarh, the focus areas must be on infrastructure development along with the implementation of the I.T. new policies.

The Chhattisgarh government aims to make Chhattisgarh the first state to provide the sufficient opportunities for youth for the skill development and creation of job opportunities for the unemployed youths.
