Limitations
Glass tile should not be installed as a floor tile unless precautions are taken to address slipping,
Substrates should be dimensionally stable with sufficient rigidity,
Crack isolation membranes should be used.
Installation
Glass tile should be installed with a premium two component modified thin-set mortar,
Grout joints should be 1/16” wide,
Grout with non-sanded grout for ease of grouting and to minimize the potential for scratching of the surfaceof the glass,
Expansion/control joints should be installed at 12 to 16’ intervals, or wherever the substrate changes,
All grout joints at inside corners and wherever glass tile abuts a restraining surface should be filled with acompressible jointing material.
CleaningUse any commercial cleaning product that is suitable for glass or glass tile and is non-abrasive. Cleaning productsshould be tested to ensure that they are not harmful to the grout.
