The University of Texas at Dallas Summer 2015 Chess Camp

UT Dallas Chess Camp instructors include top-ranked and internationally known winners of multiple Final Four of Chess and Pan American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championships.

Camp tuition includes a souvenir T-shirt, a chess board and pieces, trophy, certificate, score book and group photo. Snacks and drinks are provided. Classes are for kids age 7 to 14 and are grouped by ability, age, experience and instructor assessment. Classes are small and have a low student-to-teacher ratio.

Camp groups include:• Beginners, who master the basic rules and fundamentals of chess• Intermediate players, who build on basic chess knowledge with key strategies and ideas • Advanced players, who sharpen their competitive edge with advanced strategies for tournament play

Adult Beginners Class (ABC) will focus on beginning chess and organizing scholastic chess clubs. Adults can sign up for any session time. If enough adults register at the same session, the ABC Class will be only adults. Otherwise, adults will be with younger campers.

Chess develops your child’s reading and math ability, critical and analytical thinking skills and builds character and self-esteem. But don’t tell the kids…they think chess is fun!

Choose the session that fits your child’s schedule: morning sessions 9 a.m.–noon, afternoon sessions 1–4 p.m.

Enroll your child for multiple weeks and watch their chess skills improve over the summer.

Chess Camps are held in the UT Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM).

Adult ABC tuition is the same as above unless a child is enrolled with the adult. If enrolled together, the two camper discount may apply (see below).

Discounts:UT Dallas faculty, staff, students and alumni receive a $25 discount. Families with two or more campers receive a $25 discount per child. Teachers receive a $50 academic discount. Only one discount is applicable.

Refunds:A cancellation fee of $95 will be deducted from the tuition refunded if cancellation is made more than three days in advance of the first day of class. No refunds are given if cancellation is made less than three days prior to the first day of class, except for medical emergencies.
