Synthesis of CeF3 Nanostructures via Ultrasonically Assisted Route and Charac-terization of the Same. — Disk-like CeF3 nanocrystals are prepared by ultrasonica-tion of an aqueous solution of Ce(NO3)3, KBF4, and polyvinylpyrrolidone at room tem-perature (air, 80 min). The samples are characterized by SEM, TEM, powder XRD, and photoluminescence spectrophotometry. The size of the CeF3 disks is tuned by changing the ultrasonic irradiation time. Low temperature favors the formation of uniform nano-crystals. Samples prepared at 65—70 °C have irregular shapes with more defects lead-ing to luminescence quenching and hence significantly reduced luminescence intensity compared with the disk-like nanocrystals obtained at lower temperatures. — (LIU, Y.; ZHAO*, Y.; YU, L.; WU, Z.; J.
