Synthesis and Characterization of Fluorescent Polyoxometalate Nano-/Micro-rods. — Crystalline rods of K4H[Eu(α-SiW11O39)(H2O)2]·17H2O are prepared from an aqueous solution of K8[α-SiW11O39] and Eu(NO3)3 (pH 1, 80 °C, 15 min). The samples are characterized by FTIR, UV/VIS, and ESEM-FEG. Their average ratio of diameter to length is 1:20. They exhibit a regular profile and intense fluorescence, and thus may be used as potential one-dimensional fluorescent materials. — (SHEN, Y.; PENG*, J.; CHEN, C.; CHEN, D.; ZHANG, H.; MENG, C.; Z.
