Structure and Electrochemical Performance of FeF3/V2O5 Composite Cathode Material for Lithium-Ion Battery. — FeF3/V2O5 composites are prepared by milling of mixtures of V2O5 and as-prepared FeF3 (obtained from aqueous solutions of FeCl3, NaOH, and HF in a sealed bottle for 12 h at 70 °C). The products are characterized by XRD, SEM, galvanostatic charge/discharge measurements, and cyclic voltammetry. The addition of V2O5 significantly improves the electrochemical performance of FeF3. The FeF3/V2O5 composite milled for 3 h exhibits the highest discharge voltage plateau, highest capacity, and highest capacity retention rate.
