KGaA, Weinheim www.cheminform.wiley-vch.de Bismuth I 5400 Room-Temperature Synthesis of Bismuth Clusters in Ionic Liquids and Crystal Growth of Bi 5 (AlCl 4 ) 3 . — Dark-red crystals of Bi 5 (AlCl 4 ) 3 are prepared by reaction of BiCl3 and Bi metal in a [bmim]Cl/AlCl3 (1:1.3) ionic liquid at 298 K and characterized by XRD and Raman spectroscopy. The compound crystallizes in the rhombohedral space group R3 c with Z = 6.
