09 - 002Hydronium Ions in Zeolites. Part 1. Structures of Partially andFully Dehydrated Na,H3O–X by X-Ray and Neutron Diffraction.— Sodium zeolite X of stoichiometry Na92Si100Al92O384 in equilibrium with0.1 M aq. NaOAc at pH 6.35 yields Na60(H3O)32 (H2O)24Si100Al92O384
(I) after partial dehydration at 20 ◦C and Na60H32Si100Al92O384 (II) aftercomplete dehydration at 150 ◦C. (I) crystallizes in the cubic space group Fd3and (II) in the cubic space group Fd3m (single crystal XRD). The positionsof the deuterium atoms of the D3O+ ions in the sodalite unit are determinedby neutron diffraction. — (ZHU, LIN; SEFF, KARL; OLSON, DAVID H.;COHEN, BRETT J.; VON DREELE, ROBERT B.; J.
