As market leader in the field of recycling and disposal of industrial and special wastes, Thommen-Furler offers you ecologically and economically optimised full-line solutions. Compliance with the applicable standards legislation, cons-cientious working in line with the quality and environmental standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and the ongoing com-mitment to continuous improvement are the guarantees for Thommen-Furler as your quality partner.

Thommen-Furler has its own special waste treatment plants at its sites in La Chaux-de-Fonds (NE), Ziefen (BL) and Rüti bei Büren (BE). The long-standing partnerships with speciali-sed waste treatment plant operators represent an ideal com-plement for types of waste collected by us, but which are not or cannot be treated in our own plants.

With the exception of infectious, explosive and radioactive wastes, Thommen-Furler collects practically all special wastes in accordance with the new Ordinance on the Movements of Waste (VeVA) that has been in force since 1 January 2006. Furthermore, Thommen-Furler has strong partnerships for industrial wastes such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, pla-stic fractions, cardboard, wood, paper, etc.

Analytical servicesThommen-Furler has a total of 4 labo-ratories for the characterisation and qualification of substances, of which 1 analysis laboratory for chemicals and 3 analysis laboratories for wastes. Com-mon analysis methods are titrimetry, potentiometry, ICP and atom absorp-tion, X-ray fluorescence, UV/VIS photo-metry, gas chromatography, calorimetry and various other methods such as con-ductivity, pH value, flashpoint and re-fraction, determination of VOC in was-tes. The analyses are performed according to standardised methods and regulations, to customers’ specification or according to the relevant pharmacopoeia.

In addition, Thommen-Furler has vast experience in the application of test value acceptance methods. The analy-ses generally form an integral part of the product supplies or the take-back of wastes.

Logistics servicesThanks to its own transport fleet com-prising more than 50 commercial ve-hicles, Thommen-Furler is able to serve every region in Switzerland and in the Principality of Liechtenstein with high frequency. The storage, delivery and take-back of chemicals, lubricants and wastes demand not only the obligatory permits but also vast know-how, many years of experience, and technical and logistic means appropriate to the respective situation. The experienced employees are ready to put their know-how at your disposal.

Thommen-Furler has its own railway sidings with direct connection to the main line, 3 service tracks, 2 shunting locomotives and around 30 tank wagons.

For many years Thommen-Furler has been planning and optimising the deli-very and collection service for piece good and liquid transport using special support tools (Catrin and Xtrans) which take distances, product types and customers’ special instructions into consideration in the planning.

Thanks to the OptiTank®-tank store management system, our customers have a guarantee for reliable, prompt and trouble-free procurement. Depen-ding on the tank capacity, combined transport is possible and thus permits both savings and increased efficiency. The OptiTank®-system is used for both the delivery of new chemicals and the collection of special wastes.
