CHEMTURACHEMICAL AWARENESS TRAINING MODULE

NAME: Mo SalihSIGN:

INTRODUCTION

The Chemtura chemical awareness module is designed to give the reader a broad view of the types of chemicals that are dealt with on site, the raw materials through to the finished products. The idea being that once the module is completed the reader will have a good understanding of the types of chemicals that Chemtura deal with, their chemical properties, hazard signs as well as knowledge of health and safety implications regarding all of the chemicals. The module is split into two parts the first being the raw materials and the second being the finished products. The task for the reader is to work through the module and find the information for each chemical on site. Each section has sub-headings down the left of the page (e.g. physical properties, hazards, handling and storage etc). There is a blank space next to each heading for the reader to fill in the information needed as well as empty boxes at the beginning and end of each section, the first set of empty boxes is for the hazard signs specific to each chemical. The second set is for the personal protection equipment needed in the handling of the specific chemical. In addition to this there are 6 diagrams of each of the tank farms that exist on site, each tank is labelled with numbers which relate to certain chemicals. It is the objective of the reader to find out what chemicals are stored on each tank farm and write that information on the diagrams.
