For Spr ing Summer 14 CHELSEA PARIS continues its jouney into time and explores the intr icacies of Japanese ceremonials using classic inspirations f rom Kabuki dancers adornments, hairstyle, and trad itional Kim atti re. Or iental detai l s shyly ar ise, whi lst structural ly conforming modern shapes. Crossreferencing this muse with Afr ican tr ibal head dresses and luxury articles worn in trad itional r ituals. Inf luences of art deco are presevered.

Theresa draws inspiration from a col lection of articles potent with memor ies of chi ldhood keepsakes and places traveled – an antique texti le f rom a Niger ian f lea market, a r ing from an estate sale in LA or del icate si lk f rom a tr ip to Japan.Woven into her designs are her long standing loves and interests ; the Art Deco movement, the sights, colors and arti facts of her native Afr ica, and histor ical French fashion.Theresa has always had a knack of turn ing ‘ord inary’ into exceptional. As a young g irl, tak ing shoes to the cobbler in hopes of achiev ing a better design and f it, her passion for per fection even-tual ly led her to decide to launch her own l ine of footwear.
