CCSA 20th ANNIVERSARY

• Soccer in Ashland City started in Fall of 1999.

• This year makes our 20th anniversary and we plan to CELEBRATE this huge milestone!!!!!

• We will have gifts for all the kids each Saturday.

• Fun events throughout the season, Make Your Own Ball Day and Night Games!!

MAKE YOUR OWN BALL DAY

• September 8th

• Kids make their own soccer ball out of household items (trash bags, newspaper, duck tape)

• Kids are also encouraged to bring a soccer ball to donate: myobd.org

• We will play 3v3 games using a ball that a kid makes, with no shoes.

CCSA NIGHT GAMES

• Music on Main during the day, soccer at night!!

• We will have night games October 12th instead of morning games.

• Please make sure to let parents know.

• We are looking for light towers if anyone has any information.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE COACHES

• Keep it FUN!!

• Know the game of soccer.

• Keep the kids learning/engaged.

• Be prepared for practices.

• Always use positive reinforcements.

COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT

• Respect Referees, Coaches and Board Members.

• Show sportsmanship both on and off the field.

• No foul or abusive language.

• Do not contact players via phone/text – please contact parents only.

• Be an example for the parents. Parents often take cues from the coaches on how to react with other teams, coaches and referees.

• All of these policies can be found on our website.• If any coaches are CPR certified please let Jessica know.

PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

• Require your parents to follow a code of conduct: –Keep It Positive!

– Cheer for both sides.

– Do NOT yell at the referees.

– Respect the other team.

– Remember different coaches have different styles of coaching.

GETTING READY FOR THE SEASON

• Practice starts August 4th.

• Please contact your players as soon as possible.

– If you are unable to contact a player or a player drops, contact Jessica Cannon.

• Once you set your practice be sure to tell the players how to find you at the fields on the first day.

• The fields have not been marked. Use cones for the first couple weeks.

GENERAL RULES

• Shin guards with socks and cleats (every practice)

• Teach how to do kick offs, proper throw ins, goal kicks and corner kicks.

• Winner of coin toss gets 1st and 4th kick off, loser gets 2nd and 3rd and chooses side to defend. If playing halves winner 1st

half, loser gets 2nd half (chooses side to defend)

• All age groups switch sides at half time.

• U5, U6 AND U7 – Players must be at half line on goal kicks.

GENERAL RULES

• Ball must go forward on kick offs.

• No lifting feet on throw ins.

• Every player needs to play 50% of the game before 1 player plays 100%. Everyone needs to play regardless of skill.

• Coach, Assistant Coach, one team parent are the only ones allowed on the player bench. All others need to be on the other side of the field.

• If you are going to miss a Saturday, please let us know who will coaching for you.

UNDER 5 RULES

• Playing 3v3

• 6 minute quarters

• Size 3 ball

• Coach is allowed on the field

• Defenders need to be moving, not standing on the goal box.

• Practice – 2 days a week, 30 minutes

UNDER 5 COACHING POINTS

• Skills

– Ball Control

– Dribbling

– Going in the right direction

• Practice soccer skills with games and less drills.

UNDER 6 RULES

• Playing 3v3

• 8 minute quarters

• Size 3 ball

• Coach is allowed on the field first 2 games (8/24 – 9/7)

• Defenders need to be moving, not standing on the goal box.

• Practice – 2 days a week, 30 minutes

UNDER 6 COACHING POINTS

• Skills

– Simple touches (inside, outside, laces, soles)

– Proper kicks, simple turns

– Dribbling and ball control

– Introduce simple passing, not a main focus

– Spacing, quit clustering

• Start to emphasize the game of soccer, using drills and games to focus on technique.

UNDER 7 RULES

• Playing 4v4

• 8 minute quarters

• Size 3 ball

• Coach isn’t allowed on the field

• Defenders need to be moving, not standing on the goal box.

• Practice – 2 days a week, 30-45 minutes

UNDER 7 COACHING POINTS

• Skills

– Simple touches (inside, outside, laces, soles)

– Proper kicks, simple turns

– Dribbling and ball control

– Introduce simple passing, not a main focus

– Spacing, quit clustering

• Start to emphasize the game of soccer, using drills and games to focus on technique.

UNDER 8 RULES

• Playing 5v5 including goalie

• 25 minute halves

• Size 4 ball **

• No offsides

• Defenders and goalies need to be moving, not standing on the goal box or goal line.

• Practice – 2 days a week, 45 minutes to an hour

UNDER 8 COACHING POINTS

• Skills

– Goalie Rules

– Dribbling (inside, outside, laces, soles)

– Ball control

– Passing

– Spacing

– Formations

– Communication

UNDER 10 RULES

• Playing 9v9 including goalie

• 30 minute halves

• Size 4 ball

• Offsides will be called

• Defenders and goalies need to be moving, not standing on the goal box or goal line.

• Practice – 2 days a week, 1-1 ½ hours
