106 A 1956 AJS 16MS, registration number 278 BPA, frame numberA48637, engine number 29970, black. Presented in restored condition,this 16MS has been in the current ownership since 1991. From themileage recorded on the past MOTs, it would appear that the AJS hascovered just over 1000 miles in the last 23 years. Since the last MOTexpired in July 2011, the AJS has been in storage, and as such, will nowrequire the usual safety checks and a general service before taking tothe road. 107 A 1982 Suzuki FR80, registration number YPR 951Y, red. Suzuki’sanswer to the Honda 90, the FR80 featured a three speed semi-automatic gearbox and separate petrol and two stroke tanks whichincorporated a self mixing system. This example has had tworegistered keepers from new and was used by the first owner onseveral long distance holiday trips, from his home in Dorset. Thesedestinations included the Isle of Wight, Jersey and the Isle of Man. Arare sight on today’s roads, this MOT’d example is ready for immediateuse as a commuter bike or could form part of a lightweight motorcyclecollection. 108 A 1978 Yamaha XS650 SE, registration number WPO 807T, black.This Yamaha has had only one registered keeper since it was importedinto the United Kingdom in 2005. WPO 807T was supplied by ARMotorcycles and registered to the current owner on 28th January 2005.He has used the motorcycle very sparingly during this time, coveringjust over 200 miles as verified by past MOTs. The motorcycle wasprepared for an MOT last year by Ireland’s Motorcycles. 116 A 1970 MG Midget, registration number JFB 625H, red. This MGMidget requires full restoration after numerous years of dry storage.During its time off the road, the MG has unfortunately mislaid itsengine. Accompanying the rolling shell are a soft top and tonneaucover, spare doors and other body panels. A challenging project for anMG enthusiast, which is offered for auction without any accompanyingpaperwork. 117 A 1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500, registration number OEF 493W,red. During the current ownership, this desirable manual overdriveSpitfire has seen a programme of refurbishment and restoration. Thishas included a full respray, a retrimmed interior with new seat coversand seat foams, carpets and recovered dashboard. The engine has hada top end rebuild and new ignition components and battery have beenfitted. Further improvements consist of a stainless steel exhaust, newdisc brakes and pads, and Triumph Dolomite alloy wheels with newtyres. The Spitfire is offered for auction with a works steel hardtop only,there is not any other weather gear fitted. With a recent MOT andcurrent tax this well fettled Spitfire is ready for immediate use, and isonly for sale to fund a new kitchen! V5C, MOT to May 2014, taxed Seeillustration £3000 - 3500

119 A 1990 Rover Mini Cooper, one lady owner and 55,000 milesfrom new, registration number H423 MON, British racing green withwhite roof. This classic Mini Cooper was purchased by the vendor fromColliers, 1-41 Sutton Road, Erdington, Birmingham for £10,130.25(original receipt on file) and was registered on 1st December 1990.Finished in British racing green with the traditional contrasting whiteroof and twin racing stripes on the bonnet with John Coopersignatures. The interior is trimmed in black half leather and cloth witha sports steering wheel. The car was last on the road in 2010, and hasbeen garaged since. The Cooper now requires the body work restoringand general recommissioning. Offered for auction with the originaldealer’s wallet containing service record with eleven stamps, owner’shandbook, dealer directory and radio operator’s handbook, originalbill of sale, sales brochure, past MOTs and maintenance receipts. 120 A 1983 Land Rover Lightweight short wheel base, registrationnumber A311 BHR, green. This lightweight Landy will require somechassis repairs to the rear cross member, but the vendor has supplieda new item for the next owner to install. The original petrol engine hasbeen replaced with a Ford Transit Diesel engine which is mated to theoriginal Land Rover gearbox. Supplied without a canvas hood or hoodsticks, this Landy looks very masculine and purposeful with its foldedwindscreen and cut down doors. Once the chassis is repaired thisclassic Land Rover will offer the next owner lots of open top, off roadmotoring fun. V5C, no current MOT or tax See illustration £1500 - 1800

118 A 1976 Vanden Plas 1500 four door saloon, registration numberOPA 725R, white. This automatic Vanden Plas is being entered into theauction from a deceased estate and is to be sold without reserve. 121 A 1970 Daimler Sovereign Series I 4.2 XJ6 saloon, registrationnumber VKL 500H, Regency red. Jaguar’s XJ6 model was launched in1968 with the luxury Daimler version becoming available in October ofthe following year. The Series I, which was the last model of Jaguarwhich the founder of the company, Sir William Lyons, had any directinvolvement with the design and styling, would remain in productionuntil 1973, when the restyled Series II would become available. Thisearly automatic example, previously supplied by Robert Hughes, isfinished in Regency red with a full tan leather interior. It also benefitsfrom a full length Webasto sun roof and the early model chromedashboard dial rings. The history file contains a Jaguar Heritagecertificate, general maintenance receipts, past MOTs and generalcorrespondence. A well maintained example of an increasingly raremodel, which are becoming more sought after, as the earlier compactsaloons become ever more expensive. 122 A 1967 Jaguar 420, registration LCV 91F, opalescent blue. Thisdesirable manual overdrive example of Jaguar sporting saloon isfinished in opalescent blue with a dark blue leather interior. During thecurrent ownership, a programme of work has been carried out to makethe Jaguar a good reliable driving car. Since 2009 repairs andrefurbishment have included new petrol tanks, fuel pump, refurbishedcarburettors, chassis repairs and general servicing. Offered for auctionwith a comprehensive history file, containing correspondence fromprevious owners, past MOTs, tax discs and service receipts. The vendorinforms us that the Jaguar is running well, but would now benefit fromsome further cosmetic body refurbishment, and the interior front seatsrequire some tender loving care. 123 A 1985 Jaguar Sovereign Series III, registration number B38 TRW,red. This particular Series III Jaguar as been extensively reconditionedand upgraded by KWE Jaguar Ltd and other Jaguar specialists duringthe current ownership of thirteen years. The vendor purchased theJaguar from KWE for £12,336 on 26th March 2005, further works werecarried out by KWE in October of that year including their SI suspensionupgrade and other work totalling £8,484. Other notable expenditureincludes an engine rebuild, a reconditioned G66 automatic gearboxand refurbished alloy wheels (receipt on file for £10,223) and a newexhaust in 2012 (receipt on file for £870). The extensive history filecontains past MOTs from 1989, the original supplying dealer wallet withoriginal handbook and service warranty book, with nine stamps, theKWE and other Jaguar specialist maintenance receipts forapproximately £25,000 and a KWE sales brochure. This fastidiouslymaintained XJ6, now awaits a new owner to reap all of the hard worklavished on her and put a few more miles on the odometer. 124 A 1975 EG Autokraft Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder replica,registration number NEW 924P, Rosso Corsa. EG Autokraft producedvery faithful and accurate reproductions of Ferrari 365 GTS/4 DaytonaSpyders, manufacturing approximately 100 examples. Ferrari officiallyoffered the Scaglietti body Ferrari Daytona Spyder for two yearsbetween 1971 and 1973, with 122 examples being made, of whichseven were right hand drive. Ironically this means that the replica israrer than the real thing. Finished in striking and tradition Rosso redwith a very accurate interior, incorporating Daytona style seats finishedin cream leather with black inserts, an aluminium and alcantara covereddashboard with full instrumentation, correct sliding heat controls andsports steering wheel. Powered by Jaguar’s V12 engine mated to aBorg Warner automatic gearbox, which endows the Ferrari replica witha turn of speed to match its looks. There is a history file accompanyingthe car with past MOTs, receipts and an original EG Autokraft salesbrochure. This exciting Ferrari replica now offers the new owner theopportunity to own a faithful reproduction of one of the most desirablecars in the world at a fraction of the cost of the real thing. 125 A 1989 Austin Metro 1.3 GS automatic four door saloon, twoowners and less than 13,000 miles from new, registration number G208DPC, Stone grey . 128 A 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 coupé, registration numberLXS 593K, red. In 1966 Jaguar added a new member to the iconic E-Type range of roadsters and coupes, in the form of the 2+2 coupé.Intended to extend the E-Type’s appeal beyond the sports car market.The nine inch longer wheel base coupé with its higher roof line,increased glass area (giving better visibility), added luggage space andoccasional rear seats, was aimed firmly at the sporting gentleman witha young family to transport. From 1968 all three versions of the E-Typeunderwent major modifications to comply with US safety legislation.From 1970 the Series III Jaguar was introduced in 2+2 coupé form androadster configurations, incorporating the mighty V12 5.3 litre engine.These would continue in production until the final 100 models rolled offthe production line in distinctive black coach work in 1975. This

desirable manual overdrive example has been in the current familyownership since 1996. 143 A 1964 Wolseley 6/110 Mk II, registration number 899 UJO,maroon. BMC’s large and luxuriously appointed Pininfarina designedsaloons were available between 1961 and 1968, with the improved MkII version becoming available from 1964. They employed the Series C2.9 litre straight six engine, mated to either a four speed gearbox withoptional overdrive or three speed automatic gearboxes. This early MkII four speed manually equipped example, is the earliest known Mk IIstill on the road according to the Farina Owners’ Club. The currentvendor acquired the Wolseley after it had been stored forapproximately 14 years. He then embarked on a programme ofrecommissioning and refurbishment, which included body repairs andrespray, re-connolising the magnolia leather interior, cleaning anddetailing the engine bay, and fitting new rear springs. 150 A 2002 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante, 39,000 miles fromnew, registration number N2 ALD, silver. From 1999 the more powerfulV12 engined DB7 became available to the general public, with 420bhp, and with either a six speed manual gearbox or automatictransmission. This endowed the Aston with supercar performancefigures of a 0-60 mph time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 165 mphin automatic configuration when new. This automatic example isfinished in silver with a blue leather interior and blue mohair soft top.It has recently been recommissioned and MOTs after five years ofinactivity. Unfortunately during that time the Aston was left outside andthe interior has suffered from water damage to the carpets, which havebeen replaced with new items, and the front wings have some cracksand blisters where water has got in behind the gel coat. 160 A 1961 Austin Healey Mk I Frog Eye Sprite, registration number328 XUU, old English white. This all steel Frog Eye Sprite was originallyregistered with the registration number 938 PKE, on the 3rd of May1961. It has had four previous owners, before the current vendorpurchased the charming little Sprite in 2005. Restored to a highstandard by a previous owner, the little Frog Eye is finished in thetraditional colour scheme of old English white coachwork, with amaroon vinyl interior with white piping, and a touch of luxury is addedin the form of a Moto-Lita wood rim steering wheel. The weather gearis taken care of with a maroon vinyl soft top, full tonneau cover and sidescreens. During the current ownership the Sprite has been maintainedto a high standard, with numerous receipts for general servicing andmaintenance. ThePrincess was first registered to the Ministry of Public Buildings Works in1967 and would remain in service until it was decommissioned in 1978,and sold to the second owner, a Mr Frank Grant from Louth,Lincolnshire, who retained the car as part of a private collection untilMarch 2013 when the current vendor purchased it from the deceased’sestate. Finished in ministerial black with a sumptuous grey leatherinterior which has a lustrous walnut dashboard, door cappings andpicnic tables (just the thing for Mr Wilson to eat his sandwiches anddrink his cup of tea from?). Further refinements include automatictransmission with quick start (enabling a quick getaway in possibleterrorist threat situations), wing mirrors, rear seatbelts, radio and powerassisted steering. All of the items mentioned would be taken forgranted by today’s motorists, but back then they would be the heightof luxury. It is believed that the recorded mileage of just over 7,500miles is genuine. Offered for auction with the original RF60, radiomanual, past MOTs and a charming press photograph of Harold andhis father standing next to the car at Heathrow Airport waiting to takeoff for Australia on 21st August 1971. This car may have been privy tosome very exciting conversations between some of the most influentialpoliticians of the 20th century, it can only be imagined what discussionstook place on that grey leather bench seat. Opportunities to purchasecars with such intriguing provenance rarely become available and thiscar should not be missed to add to an important private collection ormuseum. 164 A 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series I 2+2 coupé, registration numberPPA 507E, chassis number 4E 52619, engine number 7E 52661-9, Signalred. In the current ownership since 1991, PPA 570E, rolled off theBrowns Lane production line on 7th December 1966, destined forHenleys showroom in London where it was registered to the newowner in 1967, and cost a not inconsiderable £2,245 9 shillings and 9d.Little is known of this original right hand drive manual home marked E-Type’s early history until Dr Jeremy Young owned the car during the1980s, both in England and America. There are receipts on file forworks carried out when Dr Young lived in Pasadena, Maryland, USA.During Dr Young’s ownership the Jaguar carried the registrationnumber GDJ 386X from 1982 to 1992, when the original registrationnumber PPA 570E was reinstated. At some point in the car’s life, thebody colour was changed from the originally supplied dark blue to thecurrent Signal red, but the change had occurred prior to the currentvendor purchasing the Jaguar from A J Sutton, Staple Cottage,Blackberry Lane, Lingfield, Surrey on the 1st March 1991 for £13,000(receipt on file). Since acquiring the E-Type, the vendor has lavishedconsiderable sums of money, time and effort to bring this E-Type up toan excellent standard. Notable works carried out during his ownershipinclude an interior re-trim in 1997 by Mike Thomas for £2,937.50, abody refurbishment and bare metal respray by Gary Dockree in 1998for £4,000, an engine overhaul in 1998, including the cylinder headbeing converted for unleaded petrol, a suspension rebuild in 1999 andnumerous other items too numerous to mention here. Handsomelypresented in Signal red with a grey leather interior, which still retains itsoriginal radio. The body is fitted with a full length Webasto sunroof,which has been a great feature to have during this exceptionally warmsummer and she sits on chrome wire wheels with recently replacedtyres. Offered for auction with a comprehensive history file from 1991,with maintenance receipts for tens of thousands of pounds, past MOTs,Jaguar Heritage certificate, original Jaguar radio owners guide, anoriginal E-Type service manual, parts lists, V5 and V5C. A beautifullypresented example of Jaguar’s iconic E-Type, which offers bags of styleand pace, with the benefit of a rear seat offering more practicality thanthe normal coupé. Conditions of Sale1) All lots will be offered for sale subject to these conditions of sale for veteran, vintage and classic

vehicles, motorcycles and automobilia.

2) Charterhouse act as agents for the vendor of each lot and shall not be party to or liable in anymanner whatsoever on any contract of sale between the seller and the buyer.

3) The Buyera) The highest bidder acknowledged as such by the auctioneer will be the buyer. If any disputearises, the auctioneer shall have absolute discretion to settle the matter. The auctioneer shall rulethe bidding and no bid shall be retracted. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse any bid. Thebidder at the sale who is successful in purchasing any lot or lots is entirely responsible for paying forsuch lot or lots in accordance with our terms of business. Purchases made on behalf of a third partyare entirely the responsibility of the bidder at the sale. The auctioneer reserves the right to bid onbehalf of the vendors for any lot and to withdraw, consolidate or divide any lot or lots.

b) The buyer of any lot shall be solely responsible for conforming with the requirements of theRoad Traffic Acts, the Construction and Use of Motor Vehicle Regulations and all relevant orders,rules and legislation made in connection therewith.

c) The buyer of any lot shall be solely responsible for the obtaining of any export license that maybe required in connection with any lot purchased. (see below)

Export Licencesi) Buyers are reminded that an export license is required for any vehicle purchased for more than£15,999 and manufactured or produced 50 years prior to the date of export. Certain other itemsincluding, inter alia, all manuscripts and documents 50 or more years old and photographic material60 or more years old and valued at £400 or more require export licences.

ii) It should be noted that export licences usually take a minimum of four weeks to obtain andbuyers are reminded that their purchases must be stored away from the auction site, at their cost,pending export.

iii) Buyers are reminded that it is a serious offence to breach or attempt the regulations concerningexport licences.

4) Buyers are reminded that their purchases are held at their risk from the fall of the hammer andCharterhouse will not accept any liability for loss of or damage to any lot.

5) Registration. To assist the progress of the sale, all prospective buyers must register their name andaddress at reception and collect a numbered bidding card before the sale commences. This card maybe used to indicate your bids to the auctioneer during the sale. Two forms of identification need to besupplied to register, at least one with name, address, signature and preferably photograph, for examplea new style driving licence. For prospective buyers who will not be at the sale, either because they areleaving absentee bids or are having a telephone bid, and who are interested in a vehicle or motorbike,a £1,000 deposit will need to be paid. This will be refunded if the bid is not successful. If the bid issuccessful, this sum will be used towards the final bill.

6) Buyer’s Premium. A buyer’s premium of 15% plus VAT is payable on the final bid price of eachautomobilia lot. A buyer’s premium of 10% plus VAT is payable on the final bid price of each vehiclelot, with a minimum buyer’s premium of £100 plus VAT being payable on motor cars and £50 plusVAT being payable on motorcycles.

7) Value Added Tax. Lots on which Value Added Tax may be payable by the buyer on the "hammerprice" are indicated in the catalogue by a symbol beside the lot number. The buyer shall pay anyVAT which may be due on any amounts owed by the buyer under these Terms of Business at the ratesprevailing on the day of the auction.

8) Auctioneers Margin Scheme. The Auctioneers Margin Scheme allows auctioneers to sell itemswithout VAT on the hammer price. Under the margin scheme an amount equivalent to VAT at thecurrent rate is added to the buyer’s premium. This amount cannot be refunded. The VAT element willnot be shown separately on the buyer’s invoice.

9) Payment. The purchase price must be paid by the buyer to Charterhouse no later than 12 noon on the Tuesday following the sale. Our methods of payment are with cash or card. Visaand Mastercard are accepted, and incur a 2% surcharge. Cash for amounts over £9,000 will notbe accepted. All purchases must be paid in full before any lot is removed from the premises,no goods will be released to buyers unknown to the auctioneers without adequate reference.Any buyers unknown to the auctioneer must establish a bank reference with the Accountsdepartment prior to the sale. Anyone who, for whatever reason, is unable to pay for their goodson the day of the sale, must inform the Accounts department as to the date and method thatpayment will be made. Accounts not paid within fourteen days will automatically be subject toan interest charge of 5% above base rate from the day of sale.

10) Descriptiona) All lots are sold and purchased ‘as seen’. A vehicle sold ‘as seen’ is sold and purchased for whatit is and with all its faults (if any) and without any condition, warranty or other term (whetherexpressed or implied and whether implied by statute, common law, custom or otherwise) as to theage, description, mileage, suitability, fitness for purpose, merchantable quality or roadworthiness ofthe vehicle.

b) Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the description of each lot, but these,whether made orally or in the catalogue, are expressions of opinion and not representations of fact.Illustrations whether in the catalogue, on the web site, or sent by email are solely for guidance andmust not be relied upon in any manner whatsoever. Most lots are of an age and nature whichprecludes their being in pristine condition. The condition of any lot and the nature of any damageand/or restoration should be confirmed by the buyer by examination prior to the sale. Allprospective purchasers must satisfy themselves as to the condition, colour, age and all othermatters relating to any lot and no claims will be accepted in respect of any such matter.

c) Each buyer by making a bid for a lot acknowledges that he has satisfied him or herself fully asto the condition of the lot. If any damage is done to any lot at the viewing or before, during or afterthe sale, such damage shall be made good by the person committing such damage, principalsbeing responsible for the acts of their servants, such damage to be assessed by the auctioneers.

d) Whilst every endeavour has been made to ensure that the items lotted in this catalogue will beavailable and offered for sale in catalogue order, no responsibility can be accepted by theauctioneers for variations and omissions due to circumstances beyond their control. NeitherCharterhouse nor the sellers of any lot will accept responsibility for any misrepresentations,misdescriptions or omissions obtained in this catalogue.

11) Contract of Salea) On the fall of the hammer, a contract of sale is completed between the seller and the buyer.Charterhouse is not a party to the contract of sale and shall not be liable for any breach thereof bythe buyer or the seller.

b) If successful in buying a lot, please ensure that your number can be seen by the auctioneer andthat it is your number that is called out. Should there be any doubts as to price or buyer, pleasedrawer the auctioneer’s attention to it immediately. Please contact the accounts desk with details ofhow you will pay.

c) The ownership of the lot(s) purchased will not pass to the buyer until the buyer has paid theauctioneers in full the total amount due and the auctioneers have applied such payment to the lot.

12) Transfer of Risk. Each lot shall be the purchaser’s sole risk from the fall of the hammer and shall besold with all faults and imperfections, the auctioneer not being responsible for the correctdescription, genuineness or authenticity of any lot and making no warranty whatsoever. Thepurchaser is deemed to have inspected the lots and satisfied himself as to their condition.

13) Commission Bids. If instructed, the auctioneers will execute bids and advise prospectivepurchasers. This service is free. Lots will always be purchased as cheaply as is allowed by such otherbids and reserves as are on the auctioneer’s books. In the event of identical bids, the earliest willtake precedence. There must always be a maximum limit indicated, ie the amount to which youwould bid if you were attending the auction yourself. "Buy" or unlimited bids will not be accepted.Commission bids placed by telephone are accepted at the client’s risk. We do accept commissionbids by facsimile and email, providing they are accompanied by full name and address details. Weurge our clients to place such commission bids within one hour of the close of the view day.

14) Telephone Bids. Requests for telephone bidding must be registered with the Accounts departmentwithin one hour of the close of the view day. It may not be possible to accept requests on sale days.Written confirmation of such bids from persons unknown to the auctioneers must be receivedbefore the commencement of the sale. Whilst every effort will be made to execute telephonebidding, the auctioneers cannot be held responsible for any default or neglect in connection withthis service. All such arrangements therefore are made entirely at the prospective buyer’s risk.

15) Collection of Goods. All vehicles must be collected by 2.30 pm on Tuesday 10th September.Vehicles not collected by this time will be removed to a compound at Evercreech at a cost of£70.00 + VAT per vehicle. Storage charges will then be levied at £10.00 per vehicle per day or partthereof. Motorcycles not collected by 2.30 pm on Tuesday 10th September will be removed to ourhead office in Sherborne at a cost of £40.00 + VAT per motorcycle. Automobilia will also beremoved to our head office for collection at no charge. Lots will only be released to the buyer ortheir authorised representative upon presentation of release notes issued by Charterhouse andsettlement of any removal, handling and storage charges due. Purchasers are reminded that eachlot shall be the purchasers sole risk from the fall of the hammer. Buyers should be aware that nolots will remain at the auction site after 2.30 pm on Tuesday 10th September.

16) Third Party Liability. Every person on the auctioneers’ premises before, during or after a sale, shallbe deemed to be there at their own risk and shall have no claim against the auctioneer or ownerof the auction premises in respect of any injury they may sustain or any accident which may occur.
