Brethren,

It is said that no news is good news, and I have heard none. No Brother has reached out to the Lodge for relief and the Brothers we have talked to are well and have their needs met, aside from a touch of cabin fever.

July’s meeting will have a demonstration of purging the Lodge for education and will be an otherwise light meeting.

August however we have work to do. We will be voting on a permanent Secre-tary, followed by his installation. And we will discuss some by-law changes in order to conform with Grand Lodge and the digest along with addressing our dues in order to not only be self sustaining, but to provide for the future.

We have gotten a couple of emails expressing interest in Masonry and are pro-cessing a few affiliations. Our Facebook admins have the new page up and run-ning and are posting daily. We encourage those who do goto our webpage where you will find a link to the Lodge’s authorized site. They are asking for contribu-tions.

The Lodge is in need of Stewards and a Senior Deacon, if you are interested in making a contribution and learning more about the Craft, please contact me. I will be happy to work with anyone interested as much as necessary to bring you up to speed. For those who have made the journey through the chairs, it’s always their favorite (I’ve done it three times)

In closing, we hope everyone stays safe and doesn’t take unnecessary risks. As always, please feel free to contact the Lodge or any officers with needs, concerns or ideas.

There were no spectators or “side liners” at the building of King Solomon’s tem-ple. Everyone worked and everyone did their part. That’s why it was magnifi-cent.

See you at Lodge,

Sean Williamson

We have been busy at the Lodge since the virus appeared. The Secretary’s office has been moved from the front to the rear office for privacy and quieter conditions. The former office space will be renovated into a private meeting room. Additionally help will be needed to complete the kitchen repairs, specifically the sink plumbing and new faucets, the firepit and the Horseshoe pit.

The main room floors will need to be stripped and resealed using a floor buffer and then resealed. I have discovered the doors that once were in place between the vestibule and dining room. They need to be stripped of the old paint and refinished. If there is a Brother that could assist with any of the above tasks, please contact John Zimmer, JW at 941-487-0451. There are some surplus pieces of office furniture which are not needed and are available to whomever may need them. There is an office desk and many desk chairs. Please be at the Lodge at 6:30 this Thursday July 2nd for dinner and meeting afterward. Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

Brethren,

It’s been an interesting few months to say the least. But I was able to use the down time to update the back office procedures with computer software.

This means easier reporting, more accurate record keeping and a ton of other things to make lodge duties easier. Stay safe and we hope to see you at the lodge. Please remember, we are semi-dark for the summer, so meetings are only on the first Thursdays of the month.

We have raffle tickets available from the Master Mason Association, $20 for a ticket, only 200 will be sold for a chance to win a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 2.0 9mm. Drawing will be held once all tickets are sold.
