Throughout the history of the Protestant Reformation, the Churches of the Reformation have been menaced by a formidable foe, the Jesuits of the Roman Catholic “church”.

The first triumphs of the Reformation past, the papacy, the Vatican summoned new forces, hoping to accomplish the Protestant Reformation's full destruction. The Protestant Reformation, brought forth what became know as the Protestant Work Ethic, mainly fueled by Calvinism. Calvinism taught that those Born Again, those Called of God, God's Elect, the True Worshipers were both Kings and Priests:

judgment is NOT for condemnation, Psalm 103:12, Romans 8:1, Hebrews 8:12, Hebrews 10:17, but reward. Since WORKS have NOTHING at all to do with a man's Salvation, but the Righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ's sacrifice of Himself on the Cross of Calvary, WORKS then are not used as a judgment against a True Worshiper, a Born Again Christian who understand this Truth: Ephesians 2:7-9.

As the Protestant Reformation flourished, the papacy saw the Protestants being bless of God due to the Calvinist belief in Private Property, and the Protestant Work Ethic, the papacy responds. In the Dark Ages, the Roman Catholic “church,” ruled with their “pope” as King of the earth. The people were in slavery, as Serfs on the land. Rome, the papacy, wanted to attack Protestants wherever they were, and with whatever means she could muster. Thus, the Great Whore of Revelation 17, brought forth THREE main components she put forth: Dominican Order, the Inquisition, and the Jesuits.

In the 12th Century, two groups came forth, that the Roman Catholic “church” considered heretics. One group was, the Cathars. The second group, were True Worshipers, Born Again Christians, True Saints of God, the Waldensians. The Waldensians read their Bible, and refused to worship according to the Roman Catholic “church”. The Waldensians, five centuries before Martin Luther, spread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth across France and into Switzerland. Using the Dominican Order against them, the Roman Catholic “church,” sought out the Waldensians with their Inquisition, burning thousands at the stake.

The Waldensians go into hiding for two centuries. Then, in the 14th Century, God raised up Jan (John) Huss two centuries before Martin Luther. Martin Luther read John Huss's writings, and then published the 95 Thesis and “began” the Protestant Reformation.

Jan Hus (Czech pronunciation: 1369 – 6 July 1415), often referred to in English as John Hus or John Huss, was a Czech priest, philosopher, reformer, and master at Charles University in Prague. After John Wycliffe, the theorist of ecclesiastical Reformation, Hus is considered the first Church reformer, as he lived before Luther, Calvin, and Zwingli.He was burned at the stake for heresy against the doctrines of the Catholic Church, including those on ecclesiology, the Eucharist, i.e.: Transubstantiation, and other theological topics. The kingdom of Kievan Rus, with Kiev as its capital, later became modern-day Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. It was converted from paganism to Orthodox Christianity in 988 by Vladimir the Great.

Heads of the Orthodox church from around the world came to mark the occasion. A prayer service led by the head of the Russian Orthodox church, Patriarch Kirill, was held at Vladimir Hill, named after Vladimir the Great.

There was tight security with the centre of Kiev cordoned off until midday. Many worshipers who had hoped to hear the service said they were unable to get through security.

After a visit to Kyiv's historic Pechera Monastery, Putin met with Ukraine's president Viktor Yanukovyc for talks on a range of issues including security.

Putin emphasised that the celebration marked unity between the people of Ukraine and Russia; a message that didn't go down well with many Ukranians.

One local woman said: "For me it's not a political event but a historical one, strongly connected to our country."

The ultra nationalist party Svoboda staged a protest against Putin's visit. Andriy Illienko, a member of Svoboda said "We don't agree with Putin's position, he once said that Ukraine isn't even a state. We don't want him to drag Ukraine into another imperialist project, which is exactly why he came to Kiev."
