A CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL FEATURING A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS Adapted for the Stage by Eric Shearer Music by Vince Guaraldi Directed by Joe Lauderdale Music Directed by Roxanna Ward Ella Wyatt, Assistant Director AUDITION INFORMATION The classic 1965 animated television special comes to life in this faithful stage adaptation where Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang struggle with the real meaning of Christmas. A Charlie Brown Christmas will comprise Act II of the Christmas Festival. Act I will feature stories and traditions of the Holiday Season like the histories of the Christmas tree, decorating, stockings and Santa Claus. And why the lyric is “presents ON the tree” rather than “UNDER the tree.” The stories will be presented with traditional Christmas Carols and some dance. We will also tell the true story of “The Christmas Menorahs.” Cast members will do some writing of their own stories. A Charlie Brown Christmas and the Christmas Festival require solo and group singing as well as some movement and dance. Dance experience and ability to play an instrument is a plus. However, this is primarily an acting show. AUDITIONS

CASTINGActors age 11-18.

(Younger may be considered depending upon experience.)Actors cast in the roles will also tell the stories in Act I.

AUDITION DATES AND TIMESSaturday, October 8 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Callbacks October 9 from 5:00-9:00 pmAdditional auditions may be added at other times.

WHAT TO DO FOR THE AUDITION1. Prepare a 1 minute, memorized monologue. Please pay attention to the time limit.2. Prepare a Christmas Carol of your choice - 1 verse and chorus.3. You will be asked to learn a brief dance/movement combination.4. Please have a picture and resume or prepared a list of experience including acting classes, voice

lessons, dance classes and performances. You may find resume templates online.5. Please dress nicely, but comfortably so that you have some flexibility for the dance combination.6. You will be asked to fill out a conflict calendar. We will take your conflicts into consideration when

casting. We cannot work around a lot of conflicts.7. You will be at your audition for approximately an hour and a half or less.

AUDITIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCES Rehearsals will begin approximately October 13. The first few weeks will be about storytelling,

writing and individual rehearsals of the stories so you will not be needed every night. Once rehearsals begin for A Charlie Brown Christmas (date TBA) you will be needed every night.

The general rehearsal schedule will be Monday-Friday, 6:30-9:00 pm and Saturday, 10:00-5:00.You will not be called if you are not needed.

Performances are: Friday-Sunday, December 3 - 18 All auditions, rehearsals and performances at
