Dear Diary,

What an amazing day this was! I found a GOLDEN TICKET! I literally couldn't belive my eyes, my hands were shaking as I pulled it out of the torn wrapper. I have never been this excited!

Use dear diary  remember a comma after.

Exclamatory sentence

Lots of feelings and showing how Charlie is feeling "my hands were shaking..."

It all started when I was slowly trudging home in the snow. My fingers were freezing and the icy wind stung like daggers on my face as I huddled in my scarf. Suddenly, something shiny caught my eye...a glistening 50 pence was sitting in the deep, white snow. Shivering, I bent down and picked it up. It was as cold as ice. I knew I should take it home so my Mother could buy food but, as I gazed at the delicious Wonka bars sitting in the window of the shop and I imagined the taste of the creamy chocolate, I just couldn't resist.

Sentence openers Adverbs to describe verbs.

Simile  use as or like:

It was as cold as ice.

Quickly, I stepped into the cosy shop and walked straight up to the shopkeeper. High on the shelves were hundreds of brightly coloured Wonka bars. I asked for a WhippleScrumptious Fudgemallow Delight and gobbled it down. The taste was incredible. Something, I don't know what it was, made me ask for another one. This time I opened the wrapper more carefully. I felt nervous. Then I froze. From inside the wrapper I saw a brilliant flash of gold. It was a Golden ticket, I'd found the final golden ticket!

Start sentences with adverbs followed by a comma.

Adjectives to describe nouns.

Short sentences:

I felt nervous.

I froze!

Describe the shop and Charlie's feelings.

Trembling with excitement, I pulled the sparkling ticket out. Everyone in the shop went crazy but I could barely remember what they said. All I could think was I have to go and show my family. I sprinted off into the snow, it didn't seem cold anymore.

Sentence openers conjunctions:

and, but, so, because.
