BOYNE CITY Lookingfor something a little different

to cap off your summer?Something Exciting? Some-

thing Thrilling? And some-

thing just plain Fun?Then look no further than a

few miles northwest of down-town Boyne City, just past and

across the road from the en-trance to Young State Park.

There lies Wildwood Rush,

a local attraction that willquench the thirst of any and

all thrill seekers.Wildwood Rush, the cre-

ation that co-owners AndyPoineau and Todd Wright

came up with when they put

aside their initial idea of an

ecofriendly housing develop-ment is in their third summer

of operation and is quicklybecoming a destination spot

for locals and seasonal visi-tors alike.

Michigans Largest Zip LineCanopy Tour takes you

through, and above some of

the most beautiful naturalhardwood forests in the State

that includes aspen, cedar,hemlock, and white ash trees.

It is also constructed to thestandards established by the

Association for Challenge

Course Technology (ACCT)and all of guides are trained

and tested under those ACCTstandards. Safety is the top

priority of Wildwood Rush.I had the opportunity to

partake in my first tour over

the past weekend with agroup of four others (Nick

and Alexander Barris of Free-land, MI, along with Donna

Pastuschyn and Robert Kar-dos, both of St. Clair Shores)

and our two experienced,knowledgeable and very hu-

morous guides, Seth

Hoagland and AndreaWestrick. Andrea is complet-

ing her third summer at Wild-wood Rush before returning

to LSSU this fall to pursue herdegree in the dental field.

We had the opportunity to

hike along short trails, makeour way across five aerial sky

bridges constructed of planksand secured with cables, and

of course zip from tree totree, platform to platform for

nine amazing runs, including

the 1,200 foot final run that in-cludes the Midwests only

triple zip line where they sayyou can reach speeds of up to

40 miles-per-hour and to tell

the truth, we were moving ata pretty good pace.

When we first arrived atWildwood Rush and following

checking in, and leaving anyloose pocket items such as

keys and phones at the main

desk; we were fitted for ourfull-body pulley harnesses

and given some safety instruc-tions.

We then hopped in the backof their All-Terrain pickup,

equipped with bucket safety

seats for up to ten individualsand preceded to our first stop.

Following our drop off, wehiked a brief five minutes at

the most where we arrived atthe first zip line where Seth

and Andrea went over further

safety instructions, explain-ing the zip line process and

how things would work andwhat we could expect, all

while keeping the adventure

A Wild AdventureBoyne Citys Wildwood Rush does not disappoint

exciting with their wit and humorand also gave us some history onthe construction of the property

and some interesting details

about the local ecosystem.It wasnt long after those in-

structions that we were off andsoaring through the woods on ap-

proximately 5000 feet of sus-pended cable.

Each of the first few zip lines

got longer, a little higher and a lit-tle faster, preparing us for some of

the best aerial views that I havehad the opportunity to take in

with my own eyes.Once we landed on a couple of

the first tree platforms (con-

structed with materials from theproperty) there were plenty of

chances to take in (and take pho-tographs of) the breath taking

views of our own LakeCharlevoix.

The tour lasted about two hours

based on the size of our group,and to say we all had a blast is an

understatement, the experiencewas absolutely Awesome! It was

my first time zip lining as it wasfor both Robert and Donna, while

Nick and Alexander had previ-

ously been zip lining at othercourses, they both lauded the de-

sign and experiences they en-countered at Wildwood Rush.

you should pay attention to as you

declutter.

Keep furniture to a minimum in

your living areas so that your

rooms look bigger.

Clear out shoes, coats, umbrellas

and other outdoor items from your

foyer or mudroom.

Move out big pieces of equip-

ment, such as guitars, amps, drum

sets, or exercise equipment.

Take down your personal photos

and store them for yourself. Let the

buyer imagine putting pictures of

their own family on the walls, ta-

bles and shelves.

Get rid of old newspapers, books
