RESEARCH• Psoriasis Research utilizing Human Autoimmune and Inflammatory Response

Gene Array. This research is designed to profile the expression of genes known to be involved in and important to immune responses such as autoimmunity and inflammation. It contains 364 known genes that encode for inflammatory cytokines, chemokines and their receptors, and T helper cell surface markers. It also contains representative signaling proteins and downstream targets of the signal transduction pathways that mediate the immune response: the NFkappaB, TGF-beta, and calcium / NFAT signaling pathways. Housekeeping and negative control genes are also included for background correction and normalization to generate relative gene expression profiles. Recently work by MD Anderson in Texas suggests the STAT3 gene is involved in mice that develop the psoriatic
