When you add -s to some verbs, you do not add a syllable, for

example, look – looks. However, when you add -s or -es to

some other verbs, you add a syllable. You must pronounce

this added syllable when you speak.

enclose = en-close (2 syllables)

encloses = en-clo-ses (3 syllables)
