RTPMS IN THE FUTURESince November 1st, 2006, 100% of the vehicles in the US are equipped fol-lowing the Tread Act. In Europe we estimate that 14% of the vehicles areequipped with TPMS. An increase up to 40% is expected from now to 2012and we hope a European Standard in the coming years to reach 100% asin the US.

ON SCHRADER SENSORSONLY:DISMANTLING TRICK!In order to avoid the break ofthe valve during the dismant-ling, unscrew the valve nutand push the valve inside thetyre.

VDO SENSORS:MOUNTING/DISMANTLING:During all operations on the tyre, the sensor has to beaccurately held. Do not unscrew the nut and pushthe sensor inside the wheel. When repairinq the tyre(and not in case of removal), you are advised to chan-ge the valve core, cap, nut and rubber grommet.

TWO FUNCTIONING SYSTEMS• Reprogramming system: If a valve has to be changed and replaced bya new one, a TPMS reprogramming tool is required to complete the lear-ning out process on some vehicles (See page 8 and 9).• No reprogramming system “Auto-rotation” (WAL : Wireless Auto Loca-tion technology): Thanks to a sensor on each wheel, the AUTO-ROTATIONtechnology automatically locates the correct wheel location. That means nomore system reprogramming after tyre rotations or when new tyres aremounted.

• Aluminium or plastic caps.Sealing cap necessary to guarantee the valve airtightness, preventing foreign matterfrom entering the working parts of the valve core. To avoid corrosion, never use a capin row brass or in nickel plated brass.

• Nickel plated brass core.To prevent an accumulation of oxidization into the valve mouth, change the core sys-tematically. Be careful, the use of any other core could cause oxidization in the valvecore.Use the tool P/N 65783-67 recommended by Schrader.

• 2 types: Rubber grommets (1) or radial airtight rubber grommet (2).• zinc coated seal washer of the valve seal (3).(for VDO sensor).To ensure a perfect airtightness, we recommend that you change the rubber grommeteach time you remove the tyre.

• Several types of anodized aluminium nut: hexagonal nut 11 or 12 with orwithout groove for coloured ring.CAUTION: the nut torque has to be respected.Use the tool P/N 65062-67 recommended by Schrader.

• 4 coloured rings for vehicles with identification of wheel location.The valves in question are delivered with a ring of each colour not fitted.
