**************JOHN J. HITTINGER SCHOLARSHIP************* Scholarship Committee Update At this year’s Reverse Trade Show, the Scholarship Committee had the privilege to present the annual John J. Hittinger Scholarship. Mr. John Fountain, a 22-year-old Junior at Florida State University was selected by the scholarship committee among the fifteen applicants in consideration of both the essay he submitted and his personal achievements. John was presented the $500 John J. Hittinger Scholarship at the April luncheon where we were lucky to have both John and Dr. Giunipero as our guests. Karen Freytag, Scholarship Chair, received this thank you letter from John:

JOHN D. FOUNTAIN [email protected]

May 3, 2012 Karen, I wanted to take time to thank you and the NIGP for considering me for the scholarship you awarded me last month. I have since completed my second semester at Florida State University. It was a great semester and I ended up making As and Bs, while managing to be placed on the Dean’s List. It is an absolute pleasure to be named the recipient of this award, and I take great pride in representing your foundation in the best way possible as I continue my education at Florida State and further so after graduation. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to do so. It was a tremendous honor and privilege to be able to meet each and every one of you. I will continue to keep in touch from here on out and hope you look forward to hearing from me. Please share this with organization members at your next meeting. Sincerely, John D. Fountain
