Chapter 5 – Heart of Purity

Your heart is the lens through which you see the world around you and is the filter through which the Spirit flows through you to the world around you. Having purity of heart enables you to pray with the heart of God and see with a clear eye. It allows you to love even when it’s not easy and causes your motives to seek the advantage of others above yourself. Unhealed wounds and entanglements can cause us to self-preserve through unhealthy attitudes and behaviors, thus keeping us from purity of heart.

• Have you ever had circumstances in your life that have caused you immense pain that you know are still stuck in your heart? (List any that the Lord shows you)

• How have these areas of disappointment, abuse, pain, loss, fear etc. affected the way you love, accept or pray for others?

Pray, “Lord, I repent of hanging onto the pain and mindsets of past experiences. I invite you to heal me, deliver me and cleanse my heart of any residue that these circumstances have caused me. Create in me a clean heart God. Amen”
