Pie charts

• Put the categories from Example 2.3 in C1 of the worksheet and their frequencies in C2.

• Note that the first column is now C1-T, the T denoting that it is a text column

• Enter the names of the variables as shown.

• Select Pie Chart from the Graph menu.

Page 4: Chapter 2  Minitab Recipe Cards

• In the Pie Chart command window select Chart values from a table.

• Type C1 under Categorical variable: and C2 under Summary variables.

• Click the OK button and the graphic will appear.

Bar charts

• Enter the categories and frequencies from Example 2.3 in C1 and C2.

• Select Bar Chart from the Graph menu.

• In the next window access the Bars represent: menu and choose Values from a table.

• Using the data from Example 2.4 list the retailers in C1, the number of transactions with cards in C2 and the number of transactions without cards in C3.

• Customize the time scale by returning to the Time Series Plot window.
