ACTIVITY: Reaching for ChipsBefore class, a bag of 200 chips was created with half of them being white and the other half being red. The parameter of red chips is p=0.50.

In this activity, you will investigate sampling variablility by taking repeated random samples of size 20 from the population.

1) Each student will take a sample of 20 chips, record the number of red chips, and put their chips back in the bag so the next student can collect their sample. 

2) Calculate your sample proportion (p hat) of red chips and include this number in the chart on the board and plot your sample on the dotplot.
