Carnegies Steel company- Created the “US Steel

corporation” - J.P Morgan Chase

John D Rockefeller - Oil company flourished under Rockefeller

Andrew Carneige - Made his fortune through steel- Replicated “Bessemer Process”

In 1884 Grover Cleveland became President - He vastly supported large companies - Did not aid Texan farmers upon request

Anti Trust” act - It forbade combinations

in restraint of trade - Was used to curb labor

However, it started to be used as a way to protect corporations

- corporations used it to call themselves “people” in court, granted them the right of due process
