Power Supply
A power supply is the component that supplies power to the other components in a computer.
It converts the alternating current (AC) line from your home to the direct current (DC) needed by the personal computer.

The computer freezes intermittently. There are random memory errors. Data is lost or corrupted on the hard drive. There is trouble communicating with modems
or peripherals. The system suffers from chronic hardware
failures.
Steps to replace the Power Supply of a computer
Disconnect all the cables that are connected to your desktop and open up your desktop computer.
Look for the power supply which is a big metal box with lots of wires coming out of it.
Write down the power rating on it. Make note of where all the wiring that goes
from the power supply connect to.

Disconnect all the cabling from it. Unscrew the power supply from the case.

Take a new compatible power supply and screw that it.
Connect all the wiring back.
Close your case. Reconnect all your cables.
