We mentored Nathaniel while he developed the concept for Impact - the Game. We chose to do this because we believe that this game has the potential to challenge people's views on the environment. Not in a preachy way, but in a way that is more subtle and impactful. Too many 'educational' games hit you over the head with the learning. What I like about Impact, is that it is an invitation to learn. For, if you want to win the game, it is in your best interested to think more deeply about our world and the challenges it faces. Creator of Rory's Story Cubes.I see "Impact" as a very useful tool to introduce the concepts of environment sustainability and responsibility to students in an engaging, enjoyable way. This is a perfect way to get students discussing the issues and learning how to cooperate around environmental issues. In order to avoid serious environmental collapse, and create a new society that is prosperous, fair, and sustainable, we must all learn to see and act, in a new way. Mostly importantly, we need new and innovative approaches in how we learn about sustainability and other societal issues.
