Change Management in the Nutrition SCM Context

1

What are we aiming to do?

• Innovative solutions to country specific challenges

• Inform the way forward in implementation of

recommendations

• How UNICEF and partners can support

• Share good practices, less good practices and lessons

learned from translating recommendations into activities

• Inspire and define a way forward to accelerate

implementation of sustainable change projects

A recap on the objectives:

Why change management?

Change Management (CM)

• refers to any approach to transitioning individuals, teams,

and organizations

• using methods intended to re-direct the use of resources,

business process, budget allocations, or other modes of

operation

• that significantly reshape a company or organization.

• considers the full organization and what needs to change.

Adopting an all encompassing approach,

all things considered.

Enablers

• Government commitment

• Dedicated UNICEF country offices involvement and

support: champion

• Functional nutrition co-ordination mechanism

• True partnership between Ministries of Health and main

stakeholders

• Functioning public sector supply agency

• Full time technical staff to co-ordinate implementation of

study recommendations

Discussion points

• What is the end state for the enablers? What do they

mean exactly?

• What are some of the good practices already happening

in country to translate recommendations into practice?

• How are some countries able to keep up the momentum

and advance the integration agenda?

• Consider what is required to move forward on the

recommendations where less progress is seen?

• Consider what is out of our control and within our

control. What can we do about both?

The journey to integration……
