2010 has been another landmark year in thecontinued development of AGCO as amajor world supplier of farm equipment.

They have demonstrated their seriousness in theharvesting market, by launching the MasseyFerguson Delta hybrid combine, which hasproven itself with a season of excellentdemonstrations. AGCO have also recentlyannounced the acquisition of the remaining 50%of Laverda.The Challenger brand has grown, having had a

very successful sales campaign with the all new600 series Rogator Sprayer, moving self-propelledsprayers to another level of quality andperformance.Fendt have introduced a new 800 series of

tractors, with emphasis on even greater fuelefficiency, being the first production tractor in theworld with the fuel-saving SCR technology forcompliance with stage 3b emissions. They havealso brought the class leading comfort of the X5cab, as fitted to the 900 series tractors, to the 220-280 horse power bracket.The Fendt 828Vario has been awarded “Tractor

of the Year 2011” at the Bologna Exhibition.Topcon Precision guidance is available across

the entire range of AGCO products, leading tofurther cost savings whether cultivating, drilling orharvesting.The commitment from AGCO and their single

The Sirius sprayer sets new standards in sprayer technology. With a maximum tank capacity of 1,900 litres, and a design which keeps the centre of gravity very close to the tractor, the Sirius sprayer combines the capacity of a small trailed sprayer with the convenience of a mounted sprayer. The aluminium tubular boom protects the nozzles and hoses within it, and folds neatly behind the tank for transport.

The ‘Quick-Connect’ system makes attachment and detachment from the tractor quick, simple and safe. Available with 900-1,900 litre tanks, and 12-24m booms, there is a Sirius sprayer to suit every need.

Jasmine Nursery Ltd wasfounded in 1989 by SimonWorlding. He grows andsupplies potted hardy nurserystock to the garden centremarket, including a wideassortment of shrubs andclimbing plants ranging in sizefrom 2ltr to 15ltr pot capacity.Simon bought his first Kubotatractor in 1998. A second handB6100 from a local growerwho was retiring. He hadowned the Kubota from newand had ran it for 20 yearsbefore selling it to Simon touse around the nursery. Themain advantage of the B6100was that it was small enoughto fit down the pathwaysallowing quick and efficientspraying.In 1999 Simon traded in theB6100 and bought a newKubota B7100 from LesButters of Chandlers (F.E) Ltd.This machine was chosen dueto it being diverse in its rangeof capabilities. Thereforeenabling jobs around thenursery to become timeeffective and manually easier.Just some of the KubotaB1700 features enabled thesome of the physical demandsof the nursery profession tobecome less labour intensive.Everyday tasks such asloading potting benches, fillingthe potting machine withcompost and everydayhaulage around the site, whilststill being used for its originalpurpose of spraying were beencompleted in record time andwith manual ease. Anexample of this is when Simonwas extending the nursery andconstructing some newcapillary growing beds. Withthe use of the Kubota B1700over 70 tonnes of sand weremoved in one day using thefront loader.In 2001 Simon increased thefleet of Kubotas within theNursery to include two KubotaB1410ʼs. One was used solely

for spraying and the otherdiversifying to fulfil the need ofcollecting orders from aroundthe nursery. By adding atrolley trailer and Danishtrolleys these once againimproved the efficiency of therunning of the nursery.By 2007 it was time for changeagain, The B2110 hydrostaticwas introduced into thenursery. With the front loaderswapped from the B1700 ontothe new tractor, and twohydraulic pumps instead ofone, combined with out theneed for gear changing theeffectiveness of using Kubotaswas again increased.As the nursery has developedand changed so has the needfor the use of machinery withinthe business. WhenChandlers (F.E) Ltddemonstrated a Kubota RTV900, Simon was so impressedhe traded in one of theB1410ʼs.With the Kubota RTV 900 nowbeen the newest model withinthe nursery its reliability andcompetence to perform amultitude of tasks wasparamount. This can beillustrated daily when visitingJasmine Nursery. Not onlycan the RTV 900 provide aninvaluable service ofassistance to customers bybeen used as a chauffer toview, choose and carry plantswith, but with the practicality ofbeen road legal, Simon canalso deliver to the surroundingcommunities.Whilst the RTV 900 hasbecome consumer friendly toadapt to suit many modernbusinesses it still hasnʼtcompromised any of itsrobustness. Going back to theroots Simon regularly uses themachine to complete the initialjobs that the Kubota B7100was bought for but with moreease than ever before thanksto the RTV 900ʼS low pressuretyres and tipping body.
