Pastor: The Lord be with you.

People: And also with you.

Pastor: Lift up your hearts.

People: We lift them up to the Lord.

Pastor: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

People: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

The pastor gives thanks appropriate to the season, remembering God’s acts of salvation, and concludes: Pastor: And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and we join their unending hymn. People: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

The pastor continues the thanksgiving. The institution of the Lord's Supper is recalled. The pastor concludes: Pastor: And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith. People: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

The pastor invokes the present work of the Holy Spirit in the Epiclesis and praises the Trinity, remembering the Saints who have passed from our midst since we last gathered for this purpose. The names are list chronologically.

Pastor: All honor and glory is yours, Holy and Loving God, now and for ever. All: Amen. THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. SHARING THE BREAD AND CUP All here are welcome to receive the bread and cup. We serve today by intinction. Come forward, receive a piece of the broken bread and dip it lightly in the cup. If you desire "gluten free" communion ask the celebrant when you come forward. VII. Agnus Dei Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis. Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis. The Service of Worship

Twenty-fourth Sunday after Pentecost November 4, 2018 8:15 & 9:30 am

PREPARING FOR WORSHIP Let us prepare our hearts and minds as we transition from getting to church to being in worship.

PRELUDE The Innocenti Strings WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Pastor Mark Himel +PROCESSIONAL HYMN UMH 711: For All the Saints Sine Nomine WORDS OF PREPARATION Pastor Cindy Marino

I. Sentence: All We Go Down to the Dust All we go down to the dust; yet even at the grave we make our song. Alleluia. II. Introit: Requiem Aeternam Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine. Et lux perpetua luceat eis. Te decet hymnus, Deus, in Sion, Et tibi reddetur votum in Jerusalem Exaudi orationem meam Ad te omnis caro veniet. Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord And let perpetual light shine upon them. A hymn, O God, befits Thee in Zion, and a vow shall be paid to thee in Jerusalem. Hear my prayer. All flesh shall come before you. III. Kyrie Eleison Kyrie, eleison! Christe, eleison! Kyrie, eleison! Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us.

IV. The Lord is My Shepherd The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul and guides me along right pathways for his name’s sake. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me. You spread a table before me in the presence of those who trouble me; you have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
