Where did SAC go, the people ask
Where did SAC go, our protector from the past
Who keeps us safe from terror across the waves?
Now all we have are land troops
Though strong and brave
They say Russia is quiet, silent and serene
They say we live in peace, no war on the scene
We wonder if Korea will stretch our her arm
We wonder what country will next bring us harm
So where did SAC go, the people pray
Our government knows but no one will say
We live in peace where all is serene
To believe our government, what do they mean?

Flags that show the love of heartReflecting on those who are now apart
A heros monument from the love of othersBut not as deep as the love of his Mother
He fought the battle for freedoms winIf he were here he would do it again
But that battle took him far from home
With other heroes his spirit roams
The flags the stones they show the loveOf a loved one gone above
A heros monument from the love of others
But none as deep as the love of his Mother.

When I think of all my close FriendsI think of one dear and true
A friend so close and dear to meWith love more than you knew
She always stood beside meWhether right or wrong I may beHer arms wrapped around me
Though I was where she could not seeA Mothers eyes can see the need of your heart
And encourage you when you are weakThe memories you will haveYou will cherish so much
But the words you cannot speakBut your Mother is your friend and by your side
A gift from the Lord above
But the greatest giftThough you look far and wide
Will be the depth of your Mothers love

These arms held my baby boy
Changed his diaper, gave him his toys
These eyes that watched him learn and grow
This heart that loves as only a Mother can know
That heart still loves though two years have past
Though he is missed, our love will last
These arms may have held him in the beginning of life
He is now in the Arms of the End to all strife
Though he is gone, our thoughts keep him near
And with love our memories are washed with our tears

I was born that year in Seventy-SixEvery Patriot was my picture
And when you see Old Glory wave,
In your heart my feeling will getcha
I live in every American thoughtMy life goes on unending
Though times the Spirit may seem brokeIt rises from its bending
The heart of America since Seventy-SixEvery Patriot was my picture
And when you see Old Glory waveIn your heart my feeling will getcha !

Angels of MercyAngels of Light
Tender thoughts of caring
Anytime day or night
Taking bad with the good
The crazy with the sane
When you are in their care
You are no longer mundane
They make you feel special
They make you feel right
With their thoughts of caring
Anytime day or night

I walked on the moon, the first to go
Planted our Flag to give our show
Blazed the trail for others to follow
While landing our craft it was hard to swallow
Read the words in peace we came
It was not just me, there were other names
I am gone now from this land
Carry on the dream of the one small step for man.

I dreamed a dream of lives gone byFour men that did not, have to die
Four men who went when told to go
When they asked for help, they were told NO!
They stayed and fought the best they could
To fight a way that a hero should
The way a hero fights and dies !
From here at home we heard their cries!
Now their families have broken hearts
Their loved ones gone for no reason
There is no end to their mourning grief
From day to day or change of Season(continued)

They say he watched as things went down
Made no move to change the ending
No extra men were told to go
No salvation was he sending
They had a dream so they could live
They fought their best to the end
They thought some help he would give
But he ignored and did not send

We soar above the clouds and seeThe trouble of dying in Benghazi
We called for help and got turned downSo we died in this foreign town
It is a shame that we went that wayAs terrorists attacked the US that day
To attack an embassy in any townThen you attack that country on their ground
I guess our country forgot that thoughtAs we apparently died for naught
Our government doesnt think of you or meOr we never would have died in Benghazi

I write the words to spread the news
That Marines never need remorse or an excuseToday is their day for celebration
Because of them, we have a safe nation
... Air Force, Army, the Navy and Guard
They too work just as hardIt doesn't make them better or worse
Always remember Marines get there first.

A fight against drugs so he keeps on trying
Raising awareness for his just belief
To end the misery, death and grief
Looking at life with deep loving eyes
Hearing desperation in the youthful cries
His fight goes on in this we are lucky
Thank you Lord for giving us Chucky

Returning to home a little late,
Been long gone since I met my fate,
Felt as if the world forgot,
It is good to see that they have not.
Thank you for the wishes and love,
My final resting I see from above,
It is good to see you did not forget,
And the honor you give a returning Vet.

I worked with a group of young men todayWe talked of saws and rope
I explained the safety in the cutting of things
They agreed that safety was no joke
They tied knots, one and allI helped like a big brother should
We did all this while they were waitingTo build their projects made from wood
They returned the ropes back to the reelsThanking me as they went on their way
I will never forget that Cub Scout packThat made and brightened my day

In awe and respect I write this down,
To salute the heroes no longer around
To honor the families
That faced their greatest fear
For now their loved ones are no longer near
It is on this page we stand tall
And remember the loved ones that gave their all
To remember the helmet,
The rifle and empty boots
To the fallen heroes, we give a Salute

The Gates have opened, the arms outstretchedA hero has arrived at the doorHis race is won, the final bell
He needs to worry no more
He answered the calls of those in needIn spirit he was always thereNow he watches from above
With brothers who are also there
A hero never knows when it will beThe time no one can say
They do their job from start to endTo keep others out of harms way
We say goodbye to one such hero
Who gave all that we could tellHe needs not to worry any moreHe has answered that final bell

Men and women fought with pride
And sadly some of them died
But we will remember and never forget

The soldier stood and looked beyond,
At the markers of the graves on the lawnThe voices ringing through his headThe voices of heroes long since dead
Why do you let our country slideWhat reason do you think we have died
We gave our all for our story to tellNow you must ring freedoms bell
No matter what Washington may doHere is our words to you
Fly that flag long and loud
Stand for what has made us proudDont let our Constitution falter
Here on our land or across the waterThe soldier stood and saluted his brothers
I will press on like no otherRest in peace and you will see
I will make sure that we stay free

Walking the streets, cant take it no more
Just got home, from the dangers of warHis family in tears from the worry and strife
Survived to come home, without losing his life
But home cannot find his peace of mind
Fighting fear with him all the timeThe horrors of war in his brain
As if he goes through war again and again
Maybe home is a different war zone
Still fighting the enemy all on his ownStill a soldier and still he suffers
The tragedy of war without any buffers
The soldier still battles, the war is not won
The family still loses in the death of their sonHis life for his country, all people must seeEven by his own hand, and not the enemy

They go out never knowing of returnThey travel the path without knowing the turn
They protect and keep the peace as they mayIn darkest night or brightest day
But sometimes the day turns into darkest strifeWhen something happens that takes a lifeAnd our Blue Knight falls to the ground
Never again to patrol his townA precious life wasted by a lowlife it seems
As he shatters lives and peoples dreamsSo long Brave Knight, you will sadly be missed
Of all of our Knights, you were top of the list

Let not the heroes go unforgotten
Let not the wounded go down trodden
Let not the enemy think they've won
Let them know we have just begun
To the mighty who have fallen
Doing little just following their calling
To the wounded we say "We give a hoot"
And to all our heroes we give a salute !
Hand..... Salute !

I received word from poets allHow I am invited to stand proud and tall
All poets have inspiration they sayI have more than one; I'll explain if I may
To my God I give thanks
He was there from the startThe Inspiration to write
Poems from the heartTo Love--a feeling that makes one go deepA sensation of love that I strive to keep
My Country, my Flag, Pride to inspire allI write short stories to explain and tell all
Finally the inspiration that leads to my lifeMy strength, my friend, my mentor, my Wife
She encompasses the feeling that I put into song
She leads me right, never treats me wrongWith these inspirations, my writings are true
They give me the strength to pass them all to you

An epic battle we fought that day
Hampton Roads just south of the bay
Two ironclads went head to head
To see which one would win they said
Both ships lived another day
When brother fought brother so they say
Now two sailors are coming home
No more the ocean their souls to roam
They will be buried with honors and glory
Another chapter in the Ironclad story

Dying, crying hitting the beachA target to get, within their reach
Up the hill they called a MountRally at the top, give cheers with a shout
Raised the flag after the battle tollRaised two flags with that metal pole
With pride and love they watched her flyAbove the beach where their brothers died
They raised Old Glory on a hill sereneA group of men as ONE Marine

I searched thru rubble the trash and the smoke
Looking for kings though they were just plain folk
Nothing could stop my longing to search
For signs of life, under garbage and earth
I saved many but hey thats what I do
If you were lost I would look for you too.
Found as a pup and nursed back to health,
The love of my owner more than any wealth
There are others trained who stand just as tall,
I have gone now so they answer the call.
They search for the lost and will never forsake
Trained to search, like their brother Jake

Standing on the sidewalk or sitting on the KnollThoughts running deepOf time that has taken its toll
The one dark day that put the nation into sorrowA darken day
No possible tomorrow
Crossing the street, stop and lookSix stories up,
The snipers nook
The echo of shots that ring in our ears
Still just as loudEven over the years
Was he alone? Or in some plan?We may never know
No one will take the stand
Forty eight years still seems an eternityThat one dark day
We lost John Kennedy

True he is gone but not forgottenWhite, bejeweled, fingers of cotton
Brought a musical genius before musics timeBut alas was cut down, in his top level prime
He said his ethics, were clear and cleanThe press and some people still saw him as mean
Its not our place to judge without proofOnly his God can judge, and He knows the truth
His talent was great, a showman by far
Whether he danced on stage or on top of a carIn each category of media there is only one top
In his type of music, he was the king of PopHis music a monument to his talent and fame
Though he is gone his memory is the same
True he is gone but will never be forgotten

To the Veterans from the forgotten war
The pain you carry forever moreThe memory of battle and loss of friends
Wishing it would all come to an end
Unable to tell the good from bad
Sometimes the decision was twice as badTo watch your buddies slowly dieAt night to ask yourself Why?
A small group returned to the placeWhere signs of war still left a traceA lot of changes were to be seen
Where once was war, now all serene
They paid their homage to the fallenAnswered in prayer to the Heroes callin
Always a memory to fill their heartsTo thank their buddies who did their part

Angels come in various sizesWith looks about the same
You never know which ones are trueEven if you know their name
Sometimes their clothes can fool youSometimes appearance can make you think
Sometimes you think they are the devilWhen they give you a little wink
They shoulder hurt and sorrowAnd they do with honor and pride
When they escort the fallen heroAs they give them their last ride
Yes angels come in various sizesNo matter what the weather
When you see a group of cyclesThey are the angels that wear the leather

The Founding Fathers didnt careWhat they did, or even whereAll they did, in what we see
What they did for Liberty
Our Mother country England wasAnd that put our country in a buzz
A lot of taxes, no representationTime for us to start a new nation
Our army was ready in a minute they saidThoughts of failure never went through their head
The love and power in their heart was trueAnd so was born the Red White and Blue
The Spirit still lingers, as you can seeThe spirit to fight for Liberty
In foreign lands with good men to lead themTo keep alive Liberty and Freedom

I stand guard at my post on the shoreAnd overlook the sea and more
My light tells all not to go astrayWhen rocks and dangers are in their way
Time nor weather can change my watchAs nightly my light does spot
And tells all that I am hereAnd for their safety not to venture near
Now time is passing and I am forlornOther means develop and ideas born
No longer does a hand control my lightNo longer does love split the night
But until that dark and dreary dayWhen I am replaced or put away
I stand guard at my post on the shoreAnd overlook the sea and more.

His thoughts ran wild and his mind replied"Given the chance I know I could"He ran across the street

Why they did their partCause their love for the fighting Veteran
Comes deep from within their heart

His gaze across the ocean deep,So far from home is he,

But wait, he doesn't stand alone,He is surrounded by his team and others,
He looks alone, 'cause he stands proud and tall,A man, your friend, my Brother.

Was sitting at my desk thinking life was great,When came a twinge and a tiny ache
My eyes lost focus, I couldn't see,I thought it was going to be the end of me
I started to slide right out of my chair,I tried to breathe, couldn't get any airI moved and tried to reach the phone,
Knew I was in trouble cause I was chilled to the bone
I thought the call would be my last,Then all of a sudden the feeling passed
I knew if I ever felt that way again,I had better be ready to meet the end
Next morning to the ER is where I drove,
I was dressed for work but I didn't knowThat the hospital visit I made that day
Would decide the fact I was going to stay

They took some blood and rolled in the cart,
Right then I knew I had trouble with my heartIn walked the doctor with a twinkle in his eyeSaid I was alright, I was not going to die
He told my wife when he saw my smokes,
That he would save me but my life was a jokeSo I took that new pack out of my shirt,
And left them laying face down in the dirt
So when you think you have a pain in your chest,
Do something smart give your mind a restGet a ride to the hospital let them care
Before your soul leaves and flies thru the air
And if you think smoking really is cool,Then pay attention to the following rule
If your blood can't flow to all of your partsThen smoking is stopping the work of your heart

Separated from my patrol I was lost and aloneHiding from the enemy behind a wall of stoneI heard them coming straight down the path
Not much ammo, I knew I wouldnt last
My last thought was to get home aliveSo I stood up then took a dive
Hands in the air I looked into their eyesThe cold feeling of nothing, not much a surprise
They tied my hands but not my heartThe took me to a cell cold and dark
I could only think what I did was rightThen the day turned into night
In the evening I heard the noiseGrown men crying as if they were boysScreams of torture, impossible it seemedThen I awoke from that terrible dream

We shuttled supplies and people thereSo smooth, no effort or quirk.
Each flight there were seven who went along,Each a specialist in their task
These seven were heroes, bold and strongIn the job that they were asked.
Each knew the possibility of their fate
Each knew something may go wrong,Yet they went without a fear
Their days hard and long. One day seven didnt make it
They left us too early we know,

Left this haven we call Earth,And with her went seven unsung heroes
As they gave their final worth. To Columbia and Challenger we raise a toast
To heroes deep in our hearts,We pray for their families coast to coast
In this love we will never be apart.

When they Found Bin Laden living and alive
In forty short minutes the fight was at an end
And also finished was the life of Osama Bin
We followed religious feeling
We followed what had to be done
We buried him quick and proper
Before the next setting of the sun
For ten years he led the list
The most wanted in fact was he
And now the waiting is over
And we buried him at sea

I heard the whisper, Remember that I Love YouSounding in my ear
The presence of a loved oneAs they were standing near
I turned and looked into the eyesOf a soldier I had seen before
Burning love and desireWhat my heart was craving for
In full dress uniform and voice soft and sereneStood the shining hero, a United States Marine
I wanted to reach out and hug himAnd hold him close to me
But I knew he was taken in battleAnd that hug could never be
He was joined by a group of other heroesUniforms different yet the sameThe tears welled up in my eyes
When I heard them call his name
A final salute the heroes left and my heart began to sagAs they left me standing beside his casket
