It is November already and although I dont cherish the colder weather and shorter
daylight hours I feel ready for it this year. Last week I attended an Economic
Forecast breakfast put on by the Naperville Chamber and hosted by Calamos at the
Hotel Arista. There was an optimistic tone to the presentations with regard to the
future growth of the U.S. economy. Job growth among small businesses has been
pretty good and is projected to continue. For our part the Chamber has had a good
month for membership and the success of Ale Fest has helped us to remain
financially strong. Last month we started the Lisle Chamber Leads group. It is
doing well under the chairmanship of TomThornton of Action Screen Print. Wewelcome new noncompeting members to the group and I urge you to contact Tom or me if you are
interested. Tom can be reached at [email protected] to Melanie Nessat Ness ExoticWellness Center for hosting the meetings.
The midterm elections are the 4thof November, the first Tuesday of the month. There will be several
propositions on the ballot and it is important to have your preferences expressed with your vote. The
chamber does not endorse candidates but we hope you will make your feelings known by
participating.
We held two Business After Hours during October and we thank Advanced Lisle Dental and St.Joan of Arcfor hosting and providing great food and ample beverages. There are always newcontacts at these events so they provide a broader horizon for our members.
Welcome to our new members that are listed elsewhere in this publication. Our numbers are growinga bit with the fall season. We hope you will reach out to them and provide a warm Lisle Chamber
welcome. We are known to be a friendly chamber and I thank you for all you do to advance that
feeling especially our Ambassadors.
As we move into the next month I am very excited that we have been able to schedule Craig Culver as
our November 20thluncheon speaker. He is a founder of the highly successful Culvers restaurant
chain. Through the good work of Bob Esposito one of the local Culversfranchise owners and aChamber member we were able to land Craig as our guest. We expect a large turnout so book your
reservations early.
We will be joining Chamber 630 at the November 19 thBusiness after Hours at the West SuburbanCommunity Pantry. You should not miss this very enjoyable event with multiple food options. We
look forward to seeing Barbara and Roger Schmith along with the staff of this valuable communityresource. We thank the pantry for hosting and for aiding all those families who need assistance. I want
to say a special thank you to Jill Eidukas our Office and Events Manager and Jen Sumner Office
Assistant for all they do throughout the year. I would be lost without them. Finally we wish you and
yours a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

website. It literally takes 3 minutes or less! Please do your chamber
leadership a favor, and give us your feedback and ideas.
Are you like me? Is local/state government not only something that interests you,
but concerns you as a business owner? Our Government Affairs Committee
might be just the thing for you to get involved in. Being involved on a committee
benefits your business more than you think! Your Lisle Chamber has many dif-
ferent active committees that can not only benefit from you,but also be a bene-

November is also a month of reflection and thanks --for families, friends, bless-
ings, etc, We have such a unique and special community in Lisle and in our
Area Chamber of Commerce. I am so grateful not only that I was able to grow
up in this area, but that my children did too. As my chairmanship of the Lisle
Chamber Board of Directors is coming to a close, I am reflecting on how thank-
ful I am for the privilege of serving in such a way! Weve capitalized on the mo-
mentum and growth this chamber is experiencing. Lets keep it going!
