History

• CICU is registered as a non-profit making society. • It was registered/established in the year 1968 under

the indian trade union act- 1926 and also under registration of society act-i.

• The chamber is regional organization, autonomous and controlled by its members and is completely non-political in its outlook and functions.

• It is managed by the executive committee nominated by the president who is elected by the members.

Objectives

• The aims and objectives of the chamber are to promote and protect the general industrial and mercantile interests, to encourage friendly feeling and unanimity amongst members of business community on all subjects involving their common good.

• A band of dedicated industrialists which founded the chamber gave considerable thoughts, exhaustive consideration and had detailed deliberations prior to formulating.

International/Global Services

• Interaction with delegations from foreign countries on doing business. The chamber helps the members to promote the indian organisations by helping them to interact with the foreign delegates

• Delegations to foreign countries for export promotion. The chamber gives the details of the exhibitions outside india and helps them in going for the export promotion


• Match maxing for joint ventures. CICU helps the organisations in finding them companies which match their work and help them in making joint ventures

• Trade data exchange. CICU helps the members in exchanging the trade data of countries so that they can focus on particular sectors


• Issuing of certificate of origin in respect of exports . CICU main function is to provide certificate of origin to the export houses. It is at the request of the importer certificate of origin is issued by the chamber of commerce and industry on the behalf of the exporter. The charges of certificate of origin depends from organisation to organisation


• Recommendation for grant of visa. CICU helps the members of an organization in getting the visa if needed when some export house has to visit abroad on delegation or any other export promotion then CICU helps in facilitating that activity by recommending them for the grant of visa.

• Interactivediscussion/seminar/training program on important issues relating to export promotion, power shortages, transport bottlenecks and state/central government taxation policies.

• Publications of circular, periodicals, bulletins and newsletters.


• Sound and correct advice /guidance consistent with the right of members conducive to industrial harmony

• Expertise on proper use of electric power.

• Proficient guidance on excise duty problems

• Guidelines on proper action pertaining to water and air (prevention and pollution control) act.


• Expert advice on sources and availability of credit, capital investment, financial appraisal of project and cluster development, auto motion, IPR.

• Organizing exhibition & trade fairs

• Establishment of skill development centre at gill road, ludhiana for conducting computer, I.T. & Engineering related vocational courses specialized in accounting & finance, retail management, telecom sales, networking & many more.

from the age group of 21-30 and they promote business minds and allow them to work for the chamber and gather support if needed related to industry. The members hosted a visit to sonalica tractors for all the members of chamber
